UK The UK is home to England, Scotland, and Wales. Getting around the UK is not a problem with the London Tube, cabs, and even cruises around the UK. England is home to the London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the Stone Henge. Wales holds its own cultural traditions but is great for sightseeing. Glasgow is the largest city and is a major cultural center in Scotland.

Hi there, My name is Stef and i am from Holland, i decided to sell "ALL" my stuff on eBay and to trade my wealthy family life to go around the world by foot with a survival book starting in 14 days time. I will make pictures and videos and post these on a website. I am doing this in one way for my self else i will never be happy in my life, and in another way out of protest against modern day society and media. I believe today's people lost them selves, and once they destroyed everything they got and there is nothing left. Then at least i have seen the planet on which i am born on and met with the people that are still one with nature, and do really care. I will take basic equipment such as a small tent etc, and off course some technology such as a camera and mp3 player etc. I will start in the UK at Stonehenge. and will work my way up to Ireland and Schotland where i will take a boat to Iceland, Greeland Canada and so on.. I will not fly and only use boats and trains as less as possible. I am posting this on this forum to ask for aid in the following way, i need help with making a route so i know what time date and where to take a ferry to the closest next position and in which countrys i need a Visa with my Dutch Passport, or can i just walk straight trough the border? I hope some one will help me a bit with making my route. Kind Regards Stef

| When you arrive in the Uk all you will need to travel through Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales is your Dutch passport. This would obviously depend on how long you plan on staying in each country though. Yes you could walk through the border from England to Scotland as both places are considered the UK and you would only need your passport on arrival into the UK. Personally i dont know of anywhere that you can get a ferry in Scotland (Thats where i am from) that would take you to Iceland. It is more common for people to travel from Scotland on a boat to Amsterdam. Would this be somewhere you would like to visit? Here are a list of visa requirements around the world. You may plan to visit some of these places on your trip. Perhaps you could look at the map link below and make a plan of which direction you would like your journey to take, to preplan it would be best and then you could look into travel arrangements more. http://www.destination360.com/travel.../world-map.php Afghanistan Entry prohibited for UK passport holders Argentina - Up to 90 days without a visa Australia Visa required (3 Months to 1 year) Bangladesh Visa obtained on arrival for up to a 90 days Barbados - Up to 6 months without a visa Belize - Up to 6 months without a visa Bhutan Pre-arranged travel itinerary compulsory Bolivia - Up to 90 days without a visa Botswana - Up to 90 days without a visa Brazil - Up to 90 days without a visa Brunei - Up to 90 days without a visa Cambodia - On arrival 1 month $US20, 3 months $US30 Canada - Up to 6 months - decided on arrival. | There are no ferry connections between Greenland and Iceland, Denmark or Canada. However, more and more cruise shipping companies are choosing to include Greenland on their itineraries, whereby it is possible to begin the voyage from Iceland or go onboard at, for example, Kangerlussuaq. Ill look into that route for you and see what i can find... Im wondering if you can be flexible with your route.. instead of travelling North and the heading west to Canada, would you consider travelling South through Europe then into South Africa? Let me know. |

Ok if you are travelling from Stonehenge up north into Scotland you should continue to head North to the city Of Aberdeen. From here you can get a ferry over the the Shetland Isles. Here the dramatic coastline is fascinating to explore, with imposing cliff faces, arches, caves and stacks giving way to gentle bays with swathes of white sand beaches. A natural home for an array of wildlife, sea life, bird life and native breeds of ponies and sheep. Once a week a ferry goes from Lerwick (In the Shetland Isles ) to Seydisfjordur in eastern Iceland (May - Sept). There is the possibility to stop off in the Faroe Isles. Potentially rough crossing though, and it takes 30 hours. I'm looking into the rest of your trip especially how to get from Iceland to Greenland to Canada. Ill get back to you asap. I hope the ferry information from Scotland helped.

Thanks... ..that is an exact fit.. :D ....so Stonehenge, Dublin, Belfast, Aberdeen.. ...and from there on to the islands.... what do you mean with rough crossing? are there 2 stations? if so then i will walk from one to the other and cross the Island.. :) I think the biggest problems lays in Iceland to Greenland and Greenland to Canada..
