Default Carnival in the Caribbean

So which locations in the Caribbean are known for their Carnival celebrations?

The Caribbean celebrates Carnival in style! Islands big and small get in the fun. This year, Mardi Gras is Feb. 21, and many celebrations take place in and around the big day.

Here's a list of Caribbean locations that celebrate Carnival.

Trinidad and Tobago
Barranquilla, Colombia
Panama
Curacao
Antigua
Dominica
St. Vincent

Default Trinidad's Carnival

i've been to the barbados carnival, though the biggest party in the Caribbean is Trinidad in mid Feb (Feb. 20-21). Soca music and beautiful women all out partying through the days. if you've never experienced soca, and the culture of these southern caribbean islands, you'll be impressed.

Here are the 2012 dates for Trinidad's Carnival - or at least Carnival Monday and Tuesday, the 'official' celebration days, although the party always starts at least the previous Friday.

Default Barbados carnival

Barbados celebrates Carnival but if you're looking at traveling in Feb or March 2011, you'll have to look elsewhere because Barbados carnival starts in June. Saying this, Barbados carnival is one of the best in the caribbean. I haven't been to carnival in Rio but always assumed it would be on a grander scale than our Barbados carnival to be honest...

It would be fun to celebrate Carnival right now. It's been a long week and it's snowing out my window!
