changing money in Venezuela

How easy is it to change money in Venezuela and where do you recommend or suggest exchanging money?..also, are travellers checks any good over there?

Banks are terrible over there. I had a lot of trouble using the ATMs when I was in Caracas. It is best to exchange dollars on the "black market" as there is a better rate of exchange. It is easy to exchange money in the black market and it is not as obscure as it sounds, count your money carefully though. Btw, forget traveller checks as Venezuelans like mostly US dollars or Euros.

Are there any banks in the US that would change money for you? It might not be the best rate per se, but it probably wouldn't be the most expensive either. And you wouldn't have to worry too much about it.
