Advice on Ho Chi Minh?

Hello all,

I am going on a weekend trip w/family for the first time to Ho Chi Minh city. Do you have any tips? Anything would help ;) thanks.

hi there,

As you're going there for the first time, I would tell you that Ho Chi Minh City is a very busy, noisy, and crowded place.

One of the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City is shopping. For instance, the Ben Thanh Central Market is a great place to purchase all kinds of goods that range from souvenirs to fish. Also, at the Ben Thanh Market, you can sample local cuisine at the various food stalls that surround it.

Hi again,

If you're on a budget I would suggest staying in the Pham Ngu Lao area of District 1 where you can find accommodation for as little as $10.

The area around Nguyen Trai has some budget accommodations popular with expats, and there is also a grocery store and plenty of good restaurants in this area.
