Post Day Trip in Seattle

So yesterday my boyfriend and I went out on a Day Trip in Seattle. We decided to go around the Seattle Center and the waterfront.

Around the Seattle Center there were a bunch of activities going on with the Seattle Center's amusement park but what got us was the exhibit at the EMP (Experience Music Project). I wasn't a big fan of the EMP itself and but the "DoubleTake" exhibit seemed interesting. The sign said "From Monet to Lichtenstein". The exhibit takes at least two artists and puts them side by side for a compare and contrast. Even if you don't know much about the technical aspects of art, the exhibit comes with a handy listening device that has a guy to help guide you on some of the artist's intensions, brush strokes, etc. Some of the pieces together had me baffled as to why you would even put them together but I listened to the commentary, and saw the light! It was only $8.00 to view the exhibit! Definitly worth the trip. If you haven't seen the rest of the EMP there's also a package where you can view DoubleTake and the EMP.

The waterfront is a great way to just spend a day walking along the pier, especially when the sun's out. We made a stop at the Seattle Aquarium, which is still under construction. Pretty interesting stuff! This was only about $12.00 to get into. There was a HUGE seal in one of the tanks, I thought it was whale or something! Toward the end of the aquarium there was a tank that had almost all of the characters in the Finding Nemo film...pretty neat! There are a lot of activities for children, making it a great place for a family outing.

Helpful hint: if you're trying to take photos, I hope you have a really great camera or take photos fast....Most of them moved too quickly for me!

Along the waterfront you'll also find local eateries and shops.

So if you're ever in the Seattle area looking for something to do, walk around the Seattle Center and the Waterfront, you're sure to find something. The whole day and only $20 spent on each person!
