Default Lyman Lake Trip Report

Just returned from Lyman Lakes and there's still snow but melting fast. This photo is of lower Lyman lake looking north. Upper Lyman is still snowed in and Spider Gap lots of snow!
This photo was taken 8/2/11

I'll post more information on Lower Lyman, Upper Lyman, Spider Gap, and Holden Village this weekend. If you have any questions just ask.

Smile Lyman Lake photo

That is a great photo Dan. It looks like it was taken with a fairly sharp lens. What camera were you using?

Red face hiking in Lyman Lake

hey Dan, we'll be in Seattle late this month....what's the best way to get to Lyman Lake and what hiking route were you taking? Also, are there any easy day hikes that would recommend for inexperienced hikers?

Hi Jenna the camera is a Lumix ZS7. Has GPS built in. Does simple video too. http://youtu.be/rrwKjahCtZ0

We'll its quite a trek to get to Lyman from Seattle. Once you get to Lake Chelan you must take the Lady of the Lake "ferry" to Lucerne. Then take a 9 mile bus to Holden Village. Once there you can begin your hike. We made it to the camp site just before dark but we were moving pretty fast. Its a great adventure just getting there and Holden Village is a interesting place to visit.

Here's a map showing the area but we didn't follow this route mapped out. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=...90042,0.154324

Cool pictures of Lyman Lake

beautiful photos those shots! I liked that one with the the mountain camels on the truck lol..the youtube video of Lower Lyman Lake is beautiful. I've only seen it on pictures though the video does really make it justice.

By the way Dan, I also own a Panasonic Lumix ZS7..boy what a camera, the best compact camera i've ever bought..dont think there is a camera like the Lumix ZS7 at the moment that takes as sharp pictures in almost every environment.
