hi there,

Canaan Valley, Summersville as well as Snowshoe are perfect summer vacation spots. Summersville Lake enjoys busy West Virginia tourism in the summer and has great excellent scuba diving conditions too.

Near Harpers Ferry there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy West Virginia rafting, areas such as Martinsburg where the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers are found running through.

Hope this helps

I wanted to update this because Canaan Valley is a great place to visit in the fall. All the lush trees put on some really pretty shows. The resort is still going strong in the fall...and the chairlift is still running. It's one of the best places to view the fall leaves in the state. And when the snow starts falling, Canaan Valley is one of the few places in the state to go skiing.

Default Canaan Valley in the fall

I come to Cannan Valley once a year during the fall for biking trips with my buddies..I know the Valley has some wonderful hiking trails and it is quiet and beautiful. If you want to do plenty of fun activities I suggest going to Dolly Sods Wilderness Area which is about 30 minutes from Canaan. there, you can rent canoes and duckies through Blackwater Outdoor Center. Also, there is horseback riding at Blackwater Falls State Park which is ten minutes from Canaan. hope this helps

That sounds like a wonderful fall trip. It's nice to spend time outdoors before it gets too cold. Have you gone already this year?

Smile things to do in Canaan Valley

hey mitraveler, not this fall, but I have been there this past summer doing camping and a bit of family fishing on a hired fishing charter. I would've loved to have done hiking, but we did also manage to explore the Seneca and Smoke Hole caverns which were cool. what about you? whats your favorite spot or thing to do in Canaan Valley?
