Road trip on backroads or interstate?

So I am planning a road trip across Wisconsin area and I was thinking about taking the interstates. What do you guys think about this? Are highways better, what about back roads?

I'm excited about this road trip and I feel like I could really gain some great memories! thanks in advance!

To be honest, the interstates aren't the most scenic roads. They're good to get from A to B quick but otherwise I don't like them.

I think smaller old highways and back roads are much more fun to go through and the scenery and landmarks you'll come across will be priceless!

One thing though, if you decide to take backroads through Wisconsin, be prepared to take a very long time, as it is very slow going through those mountains and what looks like 10 miles on the map may actually be 30 or 40 miles.

Wisconsin has some really rural roads, which will take you a long time to get there...but it will be worth it. Although if you like city scenery, you'll find lots of great sights from Interstate 94 that goes right through Milwaukee. I love seeing Miller Field, where the Brewers play. It's a really great looking building.
