|  crossing the Rockies in winter I am planning on crossing the Rockies this winter by car to get to LA, and I've never done it before. Will I be okay? Has anyone got any advice or tips? |

|  Re: crossing the Rockies in winter I've never crossed the Rockies in winter, but I did so in spring April, and there was definitely new snow when I was there. Even in spring, the worst snow I experienced was in Colorado, and it was still fairly light, but there were still plenty of accidents. I'd advice you getting a four wheel drive, as the added traction is a real benefit. Even then, you still may need chains if roads are really bad. A few other tips I can give: - make sure you have chains and know how to install them properly. - take emergency supplies in case you get stranded during a storm. Good luck! |
