Recreation Information

Founded in 1896 by Civil War Union and Confederate Veterans who worked side by side to create a city, the town reveals its history at every turn. Blue and gray sidewalks celebrate its Civil War roots and streets are named for Yank and Reb generals. Evergreen Cemetery commemorates Yanks and Rebs 'resting side by side.' The Blue & Gray Museum tells the founding story in a documentary film and displays rare memorabilia of the City's earliest years.
