Champaign Hotels

Like many other sections in the suburban areas of the state, the Champaign Illinois hotels are predominantly of the chain variety. This is good news for the budget traveler, who will have no trouble finding Champaign hotels that are part of the Microtel, Days Inn, Red Roof, Super 8, Econolodge, La Quinta or other budget chain.

Historic Hotel in Champaign

Some of the more interesting historic Champaign Illinois hotels are actually located in Urbana, which is just a few miles away from Champaign. For example, the Historic Lincoln Hotel and Conference Center is a Bavarian landmark hotel that was constructed in 1924. The room’s carpet design was adapted from a century old German oriental carpet that was re-colored and re-scaled for the room area. A museum collection of English titled nobles hangs on the walls of the Camelot Dining Room, where dinner theatre events are often featured. This pet-friendly hotel also offers free wireless Internet service.

The Jumers castle Lodge is also located in Urbana Illinois. When you enter the grand lobby you are transported in time to a bygone era.  Four-poster beds, fireplaces, deep rich tapestry and custom woodworking characterize the rooms at this hotel, along with beautiful oil paintings and custom designed furniture.

Both the Lincoln and the Jumers Hotel are located near the Orpheum Children's Science Museum and the Krannert Art Museum.

Budget Champaign Illinois Hotels

When it comes to budget travel, few hotels can compete with the value offered by Extended Stay. In addition to the comfortable recliner and large work desk, the studio suites at this hotel in Champaign feature a kitchen where you can prepare meals at your convenience. You also receive complementary movie channels, WIFI, free local phone calls, voice-mail, and a two-line phone with a computer dataport. Guests also have access to a 24-hour, coin-operated laundry facility. Housekeeping is conducted once a week.

Bed and Breakfast Champaign

If you don't like traditional hotels, you may enjoy staying at a bed and breakfast. Champaign has a few of them. Gold's Bed and Breakfast 2065 County Road is an 1874 farmhouse that is surrounded by cornfields. It is located near the University of Illinois, and Parkland College. There are three cozy guest rooms with private and shared baths. Fresh fruits from the garden and orchard are served at breakfast.

Whether you choose an historic Champaign hotel, a budget hotel, or a bed and breakfast, Champaign has a variety of options for all types of travelers.
