If you want to see desert canyons, soaring mountains, stunning beaches, and expansive forests, then it might be time to plan a Washington vacation. The state of Washington is located in the upper northwest corner of the Continental United States, where the landscape varies as much as you could want it to. Washington travel presents the visitor with a full array of things to do, from wine-tasting to alpine skiing. Whether it’s urban pursuits you are after, or outdoors adventure, the Evergreen State is as poised as any other to offer you what you are looking for. This is also true of the Washington hotels. From resorts and 5-star luxury, to the Washington budget hotels, the selection of Washington hotels leaves little out. Perhaps a bed and breakfast is the way to go for a weekend getaway, or a mountain lodge is where you want to be. Wherever you decide to go in Washington, you can be sure that the Washington hotels will provide you with nearby lodging options that will suit your taste and budget.
As far as Washington cities go, Seattle is by
far the most recognized, and yes, you can get a
good cup of coffee here, but that’s just a
small piece of the puzzle. Seattle
is the state’s largest city, and among its
main attractions are the Space
Needle, Pike
Place Market and the 14,410-foot Mt.
Rainier looming over the horizon. There
is little doubt that your time spent in this hip
and well-educated city will prove rewarding, and
to help make your trip here all the better, the
Seattle hotels provide visitors with a wonderful
array of lodging options. If there is a part
of town you want to stay in, you can bet there will
be a more than ample selection of Seattle hotels
to choose from. You can opt for full-service
Seattle hotels, or save some money at the city’s
options for Washington budget hotels. How
does an elegant hotel on the Puget Sound sound?
Maybe you will choose to rent a furnished apartment.
The selection of Seattle hotels is just part of
what makes travel to this city so attractive.
For a well-rounded shopping experience in and around
Seattle, you might head to nearby Bellevue,
where the Bellevue Square Mall has gobs of shops.
Dining in Bellevue is a pleasure, as is exploring
its 320-acre Mercer Slough nature park. Among
the Bellevue hotels are a dozen or more upscale
options, and this safe city provides a good base
from which to enjoy Seattle as well. To sample
some of Washington’s wines, you might head
to the Seattle suburb of Kirkland
and check out the farmers market.
Just south of Seattle is the city of Tacoma,
which is found near the base of the Puget Sound.
A long time industrial city, Tacoma has been steadily
improving its overall image. Tacoma has some
interesting museums, like the Museum of Glass and
the Washington History Museum. Shopping on
Antique Row or exploring the Tacoma dining options
are just some of the things to do here. The
hotels in Tacoma are mostly of the chain variety,
so you can find a good room here at a good price.
At nearby Mt. Ranier National Park, you can find
resorts and lodges, like those found at Crystal
Mountain. Crystal Mountain is the state’s
largest ski resort, and it boasts some very nice
Washington hotels. To the immediate southwest
of Tacoma, the capital city of Olympia
can be found. Olympia is a charming capital
city, where the big city isn’t too big, and
the small town vibes are healthy. Resting
on the banks of the Puget Sound certainly doesn’t
hurt the city’s appeal, nor do attractions
like the Capitol Building, the Madison Scenic Park
and the Bigelow House. The Olympia hotels
present a few worthy choices, and generally, the
city is a pretty good bet for those looking for
Washington budget hotels.
If you head north of Seattle towards the Canadian
border, two towns where you might be looking for
Washington hotels are Bellingham and Winthrop.
Bellingham enjoys a most privileged location, with
Mt. Baker off on one side, and Bellingham Bay on
the other. The city is just an hour from the
city of Vancouver,
85 miles north of Seattle, and a ferry-ride away
from the beautiful San Juan Islands. Cultural
endeavors can be enjoyed in the city’s cultural
district, where you will find the Whatcom Museum
of History and Art. Whale watching tours and
tours to the Canadian city of Victoria are just
some of the ways to enjoy your Bellingham vacation.
The hotels in Bellingham are generally of the mid-priced
chain brands, with some good options for Washington
budget hotels. For a great room at a pretty
good price, you might check out the Fairhaven Village
Inn in Bellingham, or save a bit of money at the
respectable Val-U Inn Motel. In north
central Washington, a town very worthy of dropping
in on is Winthrop, where you will find some of the
best Washington resorts, including the Sun Mountain
Lodge. Winthrop is renowned for its outdoor
recreation, and if you like fishing, white water
rafting or hiking, you will want to see what Winthrop
has to offer. Besides the bunch of nice Winthrop
hotels available to you, you might try a Winthrop
bed and breakfast.
In eastern Washington, we come to the last city
that we are going to take a look at in this far-ranging
state. The city of Spokane lies just over
the border from the beautiful Idaho city of Coeur
d’Alene, and if you are driving here from
western Washington, the city will prove an oasis
amidst the vast fields and desert expanses found
along the way. Spokane has the second-largest
airport in the state, and for convenience, you might
choose to stay at one of the airport hotels in Spokane
WA. There is a full selection when it
comes to the hotels in Spokane WA, with options
that include a wide array of Washington budget hotels.
There are about a dozen bed and breakfast hotels
in Spokane WA, and you can also choose from a good
amount of full-service hotels. In Spokane,
you can gamble and have a good time at the casinos,
take a winery tour, and ride the world’s largest
wooden roller coaster. There are just so many
possible Washington vacation destinations.
Book your stay in one of the great Washington hotels
and come see for yourself how dynamic this state
is. Keep in mind that for discount Washington
lodging, you might look for vacation package deals
that can save you big.
