Cirque du Soleil Show Dubai

There are many things to do in Dubai, but the captivating Cirque du Soleil Show Dubai is surely at the top of any entertainment list. Cirque du Soleil is a sensational modern circus, blending traditional circus acts with music, dance, and theatricality. Cirque du Soleil tickets are a passport to imaginative, high-quality artistic entertainment delivered by world-class performers, and the exciting Palm Jumeirah Cirque du Soleil show is guaranteed to be a highlight of any Dubai vacation.

Meaning "Circus of the Sun" in French, the award-winning Cirque du Soleil was founded in 1984 by former street performers Guy Laliberte and Dan Gauthier. The artistic entertainment company employs over 1,000 artists that have performed in over 200 cities and on 5 continents, and Cirque du Soleil tickets have been sold to nearly 80 million spectators! Be sure to book your own Cirque du Soleil tickets far in advance—Dubai is the top destination for UAE vacations, and many others will surely be trying to see the spell-binding show.

The unique Cirque du Soleil show Dubai is expected to begin in 2011 and will be directed by Guy Caron (who directed Dralion in 1999 and worked as a Director of Creation on KÀ in 2004) and Michael Curry (who has worked with Cirque as a props and puppetry designer). A prelude show will be performed beginning in 2009 in the form of the famous world-touring Alegria show. With phenomenal acrobatics, stunning theatrical effects, mime, and modern dance, each breathtaking Cirque show a one-of-a-kind blend of cirque, spectacle, music, and dance, with a unique theme and soundtrack. Alegria, for example, is a show with darker music and lighting than past Cirque productions, geared towards expressing the show"s theme of power abuse and consequent struggles for freedom. The lively and engaging Cirque du Soleil Show Dubai on Palm Jumeirah is sure to be an unforgettable experience.

The custom-produced Palm Jumeirah Cirque du Soleil show will be performed in a new 1,800-seat venue on Palm Jumeirah, smallest of three man-made and palm-shaped Palm Islands (the other two are Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira) along the Dubai coast. In addition to the new Cirque du Soliel show, Palm Jumeirah is home to some of the many Dubai luxury hotels and resorts, including the new ocean-themed Atlantis, the Palm resort. Given the Palm Islands are on off the Dubai coastline, they are also naturally home to several beaches.

The creation of the Cirque du Soleil Show Dubai is thanks to Cirque's partnership with Nakheel, a real estate developer responsible for man-made island developments in Dubai. In 2008, Nakheel and Istithmar World (the investment arm of Dubai World) together acquired a 20 percent stake in the Cirque du Soleil company. Notably, the permanent Palm Jumeirah Cirque du Soleil show will be the first Cirque resident show to be based outside of the United States and Asia. Permanent Cirque du Soleil shows have a been a major tourist draw to other leisure destinations such as Las Vegas, and it is expected that the Dubai show will only add to Dubai"s growing tourism industry and make it an even more popular international holiday destination.
