UAE Golf Courses

UAE Golf Courses

Hot sun, desert fairways and plenty of unique challenges await golfers planning UAE golf vacations. Where else would golfers be given their own personal piece of grass to set under their ball on the brown fairways? Dubai of course! Dubai and the rest of the UAE has shown great advancement in everything tourist-related, include UAE golf courses. Where once golf was a questionable sport receiving more shakes than nods, it’s now a growing enterprise and offers one of the most unique landscapes to get your game on.

The Abu Dhabi Golf Club by Sheraton is an excellent choice in luxury UAE golf resorts and is conveniently located close to Dubai and Sharjah. The golf club creates an outstanding first impression, shaped like a falcon descending on a golf ball. If you like to practice before starting a game, there are chipping and putting greens as well as practice bunkers with an 1150-foot driving range. The Gardens Course, at 6498 yards,  and the National Course, at 7204 yards, are each 18 holes, par 72 and floodlit when the sun sets.

The National Course was designed and built in 1992. After plenty of time naturally cultivating itself, the course was open to the public in exceptional condition.  It’s characterized by numerous bunkers and lakes, large swaying palms and flourishing fairways for lots of challenges and rewards. In addition to the golf course, guests on UAE golf vacations can enjoy an outdoor pool, a state-of-the-art gym, sauna and steam rooms, tennis and squash courts, a Jacuzzi, snooker room and stadium court.

The Tower Links Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah is another great choice in luxury UAE golf resorts. This is another of the excellent UAE golf courses which is being made even more accessible by the construction of the six-lane Emirate Road. The Towel Links Golf Course is defined by many natural features adding a distinct feel to each game. Bordering a lush mangrove swamp, Tower Links is set against the commanding and beautiful Hajar Mountains, one of the biggest natural attractions in the UAE.  The clubhouse emulates its namesake, in the shape of a large tower which overlooks the ninth hole and the eighteenth hole. Dining before or after a game is a pleasure with plenty of culinary delicacies to choose from to satiate every palate.

The mangrove swamp makes this one of the most unique of all UAE golf courses. The course meanders throughout the mangrove and features many hazards, which, when paired with the bunkers and lakes, offers a very challenging game. The back nine is especially appealing once the sun goes down and the floodlights come on, creating a magical feel to the course. All facilities offered for practice are also excellent and include practice greens and bunkers, an academy and a driving range.

There are many other courses to enjoy during UAE golf vacations that aren’t part of a large resort but are equally impressive. Most of the best golf courses are found throughout Dubai. Choose any of the Dubai hotels that appeals to you and you can mix and match your golf vacation however you like. Both The Montgomerie and The Desert Course are two top courses to play in Dubai. You can visit neighboring emirates and try out some other courses as well. Choosing to stay in Dubai offers the most advantages, especially if you’re planning on doing some sightseeing. Aside from shopping, there are many exciting things to do and see, from leisure cruises to relaxing days at Jumeirah Beach.

One of the most popular and true luxury UAE golf resorts is found on Palm Jebel Ali. Part of the incredible Palm Islands, the Jebel Ali Hotel and Golf Resort offers an exceptionally designed nine hole, championship, par 36 course. Since the late 1980's the UAE has gained as strong foothold in the world golf.  There is a new generation of luxury UAE golf resorts planned for the UAE that encompass much more than lavish golf courses. They also provide every service and amenity visitors may need or want during their Middle Eastern vacations. A number of prominent voices in the golf world have called Dubai the leading golf destination in the world. Though some agree and others disagree, there’s one thing that can be counted on, if it isn’t the leader now, it will become the leader in true Dubai style.
