Mount Seymour

Mount Seymour is a small Canadian ski resort located in the District of North Vancouver. Not far away is Downtown Vancouver, making the Mount Seymour Ski Resort especially popular with Vancouver residents and visitors. The Mount Seymour Provincial Park is the more exact location for the resort. Running through this park are the North Shore Mountains, which boast a peak elevation of almost 5,900 feet above sea level. As for Mount Seymour, it tops out at 4,150 feet.

The Mount Seymour Ski Resort might not be the biggest ski resort in British Columbia, but it provides enough in the way of variety to satisfy even the most seasoned skiers and snowboarders. There are more than twenty marked trails that cater to various levels, and complementing these trails are numerous unmarked routes. As is typical at many ski resorts across North America, Mount Seymour also offers a terrain park where skiers and snowboarders who like to do tricks can get their fill of jumps, jibs, and rails. You can also dip into a half pipe at Mount Seymour's terrain park if that's what you have in mind.

The Mount Seymour Ski Resort can be a fine place to spend a day or more while hanging out in the Vancouver area. Even if you don't know how to ski or snowboard, a visit to this fun resort can be rewarding. Both lessons and rental equipment are available. When you're not skiing or snowboarding at the Mount Seymour Ski Resort, you can go tubing, tobogganing, or snowshoeing. On the snowshoeing side of things, it is worth noting that guided tours can be booked. It is also possible to do some backcountry snowshoeing and camping if that should pique your interest.

It's not hard to understand why the Mount Seymour Ski Resort is a popular winter destination for those who are looking to enjoy some mountain fun in the Vancouver region. The lift tickets are relatively affordable for starters, and when you're not hitting the slopes, you can enjoy big city attractions such as the Vancouver Aquarium and Chinatown on the side. If you are looking for lodging near Mount Seymour, any one of the Vancouver hotels should do. Staying in North Vancouver can be a good idea. That's where you will find the Lonsdale Quay Hotel. This boutique hotel is known for its excellent location on the whole, and its rooms provide a comfortable, homey appeal that is hard to find fault with.

When searching for lodging near Mount Seymour, two other North Vancouver hotels that are worth keeping in mind are the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier and the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites North Vancouver. Both of these hotels offer comfortable and well-equipped guest units, not to mention convenient locations that have guests within easy reach of Mount Seymour and Downtown Vancouver. It's worth mentioning that North Vancouver is home to an array of attractive bed and breakfast inns, so you might keep that in mind when looking for lodging near Mount Seymour. The ThistleDown House and the Crystal's View Vancouver Bed and Breakfast are just two of the area B&B's worth adding to the list of possibilities.
