Victoria BC Resorts

The Victoria BC resorts include some wonderful lodging establishments that rank among the very best hotels on Vancouver Island. These luxurious resorts offer elevated levels of comfort, and outside of the well-equipped guest units are some tantalizing facilities. Add in the excellent locations on the southern side of Vancouver Island, and it only becomes clearer that the Victoria BC resorts can make ideal British Columbia travel bases.

Some of the best Victoria luxury resorts are found right near the Inner Harbour. This puts them right in the heart of everything that the downtown Victoria area has to offer. Among these upscale retreats is the Fairmont Empress Hotel (pictured) at 721 Government Street. One of the major landmarks in town, the beautiful Empress Hotel has stood proudly on the banks of the Inner Harbour since 1908. Its 417 rooms and suites are easily among the most exclusive in all of British Columbia, and filling down time is easy, thanks to the two restaurants, the sleek lounge, the seductive spa, and the indulgent indoor pool. A 24-hour business center also figures among the extensive Empress Hotel facilities, so business travelers can get some work done at any time of day.

Another top Victoria BC resort and spa is the Delta Victoria. More formally known as the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort Hotel and Spa, this sumptuous retreat occupies a prime piece of land on the northern banks of the Inner Harbour waters. The address is 45 Songhees Road. Just a five-minute walk is all that is required to get to the downtown core, and attractions such as the Royal BC Museum aren't very far off either. In addition to being close to everything that downtown Victoria has to offer, Delta Victoria guests enjoy access to an enviable recreation center, and the full-service spa can be a perfect place to go for some pampering. As is true of the Empress Hotel, the Delta Victoria Resort offers a long list of facilities to go with its spa and rec center, and concierge service is available for any number of things, such as finding a specific attraction or restaurant.

The Brentwood Bay Resort is a fine example of a Victoria BC resort and spa that can be found outside of the city center. Situated on a picturesque inlet approximately twenty minutes north of Victoria's downtown area, this resort expertly blends the boutique hotel and resort experiences, which results in an amazing overall package. It also offers amazing activity options for guests to take advantage of. A boat shuttle can take guests to Butchart Gardens, for example, and the eco-adventure options include such fun pursuits as fishing and kayaking. A PADI dive center and a marina are among the Brentwood Bay Resort's facility highlights, as is a full-service spa that is fit for royalty. 849 Verdier Avenue is the address for the Brentwood Bay Resort, with the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal is twenty minutes away. The Victoria International Airport is even closer and takes just ten minutes to reach by car.

Other fantastic British Columbia resorts that call the Victoria area home are the Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort and Spa, which overlooks a world-class golf resort that was designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son, and the Poet's Cove Resort. The Poet's Cove Resort is actually situated on one of the Gulf Islands that can be found between Vancouver Island and the BC mainland. To reach it requires taking a ferry or water taxi from the town of Sidney, which is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Victoria. Of course, since the resort has its own marina, taking a private boat is also an option.
