The country of Canada is immense, and as such there
are almost an unlimited number of options for Canada day
trips. Canada tours and Canada trips can include
everything from time spent in the Canadian Rockies to
a day in historical Victoria.
A collection of some of the most popular Canada day trips
can be a useful source when deciding how to begin your
vacation in Canada.
Vancouver
Vancouver
is the largest city in western Canada and enjoys proximity
to many interesting attractions. When planning Canada
day trips in Vancouver, be sure to make time to take a
walk through Stanley Park.
This popular park is actually located downtown in the
city center district and is one of the major attractions
in Vancouver. After spending the first half of your
day trip in Canada at the park and strolling through the
downtown area, head over to the Gastown neighborhood.
In Gastown, tourists will find the only active steam clock
in the world, as well as many shops and restaurants which
focus on serving tourists. Be sure to leave time
in your Vancouver day trip in Canada for visiting Granville
Island, located just south of the downtown area.
Toronto
Taking Canada tours of Toronto
is an excellent way to become familiar with the urban
side of Canada. Start at the CN
Tower, where you can catch a view of the expanse of
city below. Next, head to the Toronto Music Garden
located right on the water. Canada trips along the
waterfront can also include some time spent at the Harbourfront
Centre, followed by a trip to the Hockey
Hall of Fame. In the late afternoon you can
tour the Old City Hall, New City Hall, and finish the
day with a walk down Canada’s Walk of Fame.
Montreal
Canada tours and Canada trips through
Quebec can last much longer than
a day. A day trip in Canada through Montreal
is an excellent way to begin. Start in Vieux-Montreal,
the old center of downtown. From here, you can easily
walk to the Basilique
Notre-Dame, and the Pointe-a-Calliere. Next,
head toward the Musee McCord d’ Histoire and the
Musee des Beaux-Arts, two museums with a range of historical
artifacts and fine art. In the downtown area, spend
time shopping and possibly eating in one of the excellent
downtown restaurants.
Whistler
Particularly in the winter, the chance
to tour Canada and see Whistler
is a treat. Considered by many to be one of the
best places to ski and snowboard in western Canada, Whistler
is a major attraction. Located about 2 hours north
of Vancouver, the small resort town of Whistler can be
enjoyed in a number of ways. Shopping, dining and
other winter sports are all located right in the village.
