Galaxyland is an indoor amusement park at one of the world’s largest shopping malls; West Edmonton Mall. Special play areas for many different ages are dispersed amid almost thirty exciting rides, creating a center point for fun inside the mall and one of the top things to do while visiting the city of Edmonton. Deal hunters will love the all-day rides for discounted prices featured on Wednesdays only.

Beginner, intermediate, and advanced rides are clearly categorized so parents quickly know which are appropriate for their kids. Beginner rides include names like Balloon Bump, Carousel, Kiddie Convoy, and the Galaxy Kids Playpark, ideal for kids ages 6 and under. Cosmic Spinner, Dragon Wagon, Auto-Sled and Galaxyland Express comprise four of the nine intermediate rides for kids that like thrills but are wary of anything too intense. Advanced rides include Space Shot, Solar Flare, Sonic Twister and the West Edmonton Mall roller coaster called Mindbender, occupying a huge chunk of amusement park real estate in the southeast corner.

The Galaxyland Mindbender Rollercoaster is a triple loop coaster said to be the biggest in existence. The layout, created by a specialty German coaster design team, features tons of vertical loops, twisting drops, and a finale intensified by a double helix catapulting upwards before ending. The coaster twists underneath, around, and between its steel supports. In the park’s peak season during the summer, staff members often flip the rear train cars to offer an incredibly gut-wrenching experience where riders cannot see where they’re headed.

Galaxyland is designed ideally and conveniently with a straightforward layout, many guest services, and immediate to Edmonton hotels inside the mall. Visitors can use pre-paid lockers to store gear, telephones and ATMs are scattered around the park, and there is a set of restrooms and a large family change room for the West Edmonton Mall Waterpark. One of the best features is Action Photos, where visitors can purchase shots of them on any of the thrill rides throughout the park.
