The venues of the Olympics at the Pacific Coliseum in
Vancouver, Canada, offer a
capacity for 14,239 spectators to enjoy the Winter
Olympics in 2010. The Pacific Coliseum is located
in Hastings Park in Vancouver, only fifteen minutes
from the Vancouver Olympic and Paralympics Village. The
Pacific Coliseum is well known for an annual fair that
brings over 60,000 individuals each year, and is
the perfect location for the figure skating and short
track speed skating planned to be held here for the
Winter Olympics in 2010.
Restoration on the Hastings Park area began in 1994 with cosmetic transformations to the Pacific Coliseum as well. A few of the improvements for the Olympics at the Pacific Coliseum include the expansion of the ice surface to international size, along with a few upgrades to the washrooms, and renovations to the heating, air and dehumidification systems. All of the upgrades will be completed in 2008 in plenty of time for the Winter Olympics in 2010.
The games planned for the Olympics at the Pacific Coliseum include figure skating for both women and men, ice dancing, and pairs figure skating. The short track speed skating events will include men's and women's 500 meter, men's and women's 1,000 meter, men's and women's 1500 meter, men’s 5,000 meter relay, and women's 3,000 meter relay.

to enjoy while waiting on their favorite sporting event.
One great attraction nearby the Pacific Coliseum is the
Hyak Wilderness Adventures where visitors enjoy whitewater
tours on the Chilliwack River. On the other hand, if you
prefer an adventure without getting wet you may want to
take the family to Playland the local amusement park.
