West Edmonton Mall Waterpark

West Edmonton Mall Waterpark, called World Waterpark, is based on a tropical theme and features the biggest indoor wave pool in the world along with almost 20 waterslides and dozens of additional water-based elements, and it's becoming one of the bigger attractions in Edmonton. The waterpark shares mall space with some equally fun venues including Professor Wems’ Adventure Golf, Galaxyland, and the Ice Skating Palace. The park spans almost 200,000 square feet, or five acres, and exhibits tons of special water rides like tube slides, kiddie slides, whirlpool spas, bungee jumping, zip lines, and an action river. Visitors 3-10 enjoy a discount and if arriving three hours prior to closing or less, rates are also discounted.

Thrill Slides are the newest addition to the water park at the West Edmonton Mall. There are three in total, each featuring an electronic launching device. The system works with the weight of a sliders body; step into a glass-enclosed slide capsule and immediately get dropped into a spiraling journey as the floor literally drop out from beneath. This drop zone is integrated into Cyclone, which features a vertical loop and a 55-foot straight drop reaching speeds of up to 30 miles per hour before reeling up into the vertical loop and spitting out sliders into a splash lane. The launch system is also featured in two more slides called Sky Screamer Extremes with one boasting an open concept slide and the other a closed one. Both begin at 78 feet above the entire mall.

The waterpark has debuted several new features over recent years including private rental space ideal for parties or family gatherings. The three sections offered for private use by daily rental are cordoned off and include dining space, special seating space, and a private restroom and locker key. The rental also includes towels and other complimentary items, menus, and dining services. In addition, the park also has specific Birthday and Party rooms seating up to 25 people that can be rented on their own or through a package.
