Acapulco Car Rentals

Acapulco car rentals can be found in a variety of locations around the city and are easy to pick up at Acapulco International Airport (Juan N. Alvarez International Airport). There are no major differences between how to rent a car in Acapulco and how to rent a car in the United States. Most all of the same major car rental companies operate in Mexico and the requirements are generally the same. You must be at least 25 years old and carry a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a secondary form of payment to secure the rental (most commonly a credit card). If you have all of these things in place, you are ready to rent a car in Acapulco. The driving is generally more frenetic in Mexico so you will certainly want to buckle it up and use caution.

There are a number of things to take into consideration in advance of renting a car in Acapulco. If you are heading to an all inclusive resort destination, you may find that you will not have much need for one. There are also buses and shuttles that operate to a wide variety of destinations around the city. Most of the major resorts and hotels provide complimentary transportation to points of interest around the city as well as popular beaches and nightlife venues. There are also advantages to renting a car in Acapulco. The city has long been reputed as a top tourist destination, and the primary reasons for this are the beaches and the nightlife. Besides getting around to the beaches and various clubs and bars around the city, Acapulco car rentals also give you the option of visiting cultural points of interest as well as places like golf courses, shopping centers, and much more. If you decide that renting a vehicle is the right choice for you, it may pay to look into bundling your rental with your hotel and flight reservations. It is often possible to save a significant amount of money when you use these vacation packages.

The most common place for people to rent a car in Acapulco is the Acapulco International Airport. This is the largest and busiest airport on the southwestern coast of Mexico and one of the top fifteen in the entire country. This airport largely caters to the tourists that travel en masse to this vacation hotspot each and every year. The airport features a wide range of facilities and services, including VIP lounges, restaurants and bars, duty-free shops, and of course, multiple car rental desks. You can choose from many major providers like Hertz, Budget, Avis, and more.

If you are not planning to pick your car up at the airport, there are a number of other places to rent them around town. Most companies will drop off a car at the major hotels and resorts and there are storefront rental locations strategically placed throughout Acapulco. Your hotel concierge will be happy to help arrange for other transportation around the city, including boat rides, buses, taxis, and luxury cars.
