Cabo San Lucas is a perfect holiday destination for adventure enthusiasts, honeymooners, and vacationing families. This spectacular holiday spot on the Baja Peninsula is one of the finest choices for a getaway, and combined with its welcoming environment, Los Cabos features excellent beaches, golf courses, and a great ambience for adventure sports. The pristine Cabo San Lucas beaches provide breathtaking scenery and marine life including beautiful coral reefs, colorful fish, and sea turtles.

The best time to visit a beach in Los Cabos is between the months of November and May. Visitors come throughout the year, but they should be cautious during the months of June through mid-November due to the extreme heat and possible dangers of a hurricane. Still, the party atmosphere of Cabo San Lucas beaches invites vacationers throughout the year, and there are many beaches suitable for the whole family. The Santa Maria beach is a perfect example of a family-friendly beach. Shaped like a horseshoe, Bahia Santa Maria is a wonderful place for kids to get information about the marine wildlife, as the abundance of vibrant tropical fish and gorgonians (sea fans) make Santa Maria a perfect spot for snorkeling. The beach has minimal facilities, however, so it is advisable to bring necessary beach gear including snorkeling equipment, a beach umbrella, food, and, of course, plenty of bottled water.

Couples looking for a romantic escapade may find Lover's Beach an ideal spot to enjoy their holiday. With access to both the Pacific Ocean and Cabo San Lucas Bay, Lover's Beach provides an excellent swimming and snorkeling opportunity. The Pacific side of the beach is quite dangerous for swimming, but the portion of the beach facing the bay is a very safe place to take a dip. The southeast part of Lover's Beach is best for snorkeling, thanks to the awe-inspiring coral encrusted rocks and the lovely marine life. The beach is quite difficult to access by foot but can be easily accessed via water, courtesy of water taxis and kayaks. To reach Lover's Beach in Los Cabos, travelers can take a water taxi from the Cabo San Lucas marina or rent kayaks at Medano Beach.

While travelers can find some of the best beaches in Cabo San Lucas, neighboring San Jose del Cabo also possesses beautiful pristine beaches. San Jose del Cabo beaches attract travelers from all over the world, though mainly from North America. The key attractions here include the excellent mountain views and different species of marine wildlife, and if you are looking for a beach in Los Cabos where you can go surfing, then Costa Azul Beach might be ideal. The beach is not safe for swimming, but it is very popular among adventure-seekers who plan to surf. Travelers will find a variety of facilities such as rental cabanas, a good surf camp, and convenience stores around the beach.

There are also several San Jose del Cabo beaches popular among families with kids. Playa Hotelera is a fine example of a kid-friendly beach. The white sandy beach boasts many hotels that offer beachside activities for the entire family. You can enjoy horseback riding, fishing, and beach volleyball with your friends and relatives; building sandcastles with your kids is another nice pastime at Playa Hotelera. A pleasant children's park is located on Plaza Garuffi on the west end of Playa Hotelera and features a mini carpeted soccer stadium as well as beautiful fountains. The beach  is not recommended for swimming, but it is certainly one of the most excellent San Jose del Cabo beaches for its family-friendly environment.

Whether you’re visiting the San Jose del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas beaches, the pleasant and relaxed atmosphere is perfect for a beach holiday. There are various diving and snorkeling opportunities, as well as other water-related activities such as kayaking, water skiing, and surfing; many locations also offer beach volleyball courts, meaning that travelers should have no trouble finding activities they enjoy at the beaches in Cabo.
