You may want to research your options for money exchange rates prior your trip. The main terminal also includes tourist information booths and duty-free shops. If you"ve never been to Mexico before, you may want to stop at the tourist information booth to inquire about transportation to your hotel or around the city. The majority of hotels offer shuttle transportation to and from the airport, and taxis are available as well.

For cheap flights to Cancun, flying from a large city in the southern United States is your best option. For example, airlines based in Houston and Atlanta usually offer cheap flights to Cancun all year long.

Depending on your country of citizenship, you will most likely be required to fill out a customs form and/or an immigration form prior to entering the country. If you're flying on one of the major airlines, the forms will most likely be provided for you about an hour before touching down. Now the country strictly requires tourists to carry a passport from their country of citizenship when entering the country. Once you obtain your passport, it's a good idea to make a few copies of the inside cover incase you lose yours while in transit. Store one of the copies in your suitcase and another with a family member back home.
