The Hotel Marionetas is a bed and breakfast hotel situated in the historic center of Yucatan's regional capital city of Merida. Once a puppet theatre, the premises have been lovingly restored to revive its 100 year old colonial heritage. Former world travelers Sofi and Dan Bosco, after years of working within Europe and South America, to settle down in historic Merida run the luxury bed & breakfast.
Hotel Marionetas is in the heart of Merida Mexico, a city full of palatial mansions and colonial architecture. All the town's attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. These include an archaeological museum, local artwork including multpiple art museums, art galleries and is a sculpture walk and, of course, the bustling streets of downtown Merida. The Hotel Marionetas is only 2 blocks from Calle 60, the main avenue which connects Plaza Grande at the center of town with Paseo de Montejo, a wide tree-lined avenue originally designed to emulate the Champs Elysees in France. The hotel is only 3 blocks from the Santa Lucia Park and 3 blocks from Santa Ana Park. Nearby are Yucatecan restaurants and local markets , as well as restaurants, stores, bars and theaters.
You enter the Hotel Marionetas through two huge antique wooden doors. Once you are inside, you are greeted by a cool and colorful cafe, a charming little pocket of relief and comfort.
Rooms at this Merida Mexico hotel provide guests with comfort and privacy. Each room has its own individual character, complemented by colorful handmade floor tiles, as well as a rich decor with handsome eclectic furnishings. Hotel Marionetas has only 8 rooms, but every one of them ensures that your stay is comfortable. Each of the air-conditioned rooms is equipped with spacious bathrooms and king or queen sized beds. In addition, rooms come complete with telephones, safe deposit boxes and many other amenities. There is a peaceful garden and courtyard for relaxing, reading a book or for enjoying your morning breakfast.
Hotel Marionetas provides the traveler with many services, including wireless internet connection, a laundry service and swimming pool. There is also a cafe serving espressos and snacks and the option of beautician and massage treatments. Room rates include complimentary breakfast served between 08:00-10:00 am. Due to the uprotected pool in the garden, children under the age of 13 are not permitted.
