Las Alamandas

The Las Alamandas Beach Resort is located on the beautiful Costalegre, sometimes known as the Happy Coast and the Mexican Riviera, between Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta. It is one of the finest of the boutique Mexico luxury hotels and has been frequented by celebrities such as Robert De Niro and Francis Ford Coppola. With it own private Las Alamandas beach and 1,500 acres of lush, private retreat, it is ideal for honeymoon couples or anyone looking for a secluded getaway with all the pampering you can imagine.
In addition to the beach, facilities also include the freshwater Las Alamandas pool overlooking its Beach Club, an oversized palapa, a thatched structure. This is a cool place to relax after sunbathing on one of the many sun beds or napping in one of the relaxing hammocks. One of the Las Alamandas dining spots is here—the casual Beach Bar, perfect for a light refreshing lunch. For a more formal meal, you can dine at the Las Alamandas Beach Resort Oasis Restaurant, which serves gourmet Mexican regional, Continental, and American fusion cuisine. There is also a rooftop bar called Estrella Azul, meaning Blue Star, and romantic dinners for two can be served on the beach. As the resort has four private beaches, it's easy to ask for a romantic catered picnic just for two. You can even ride on horseback to your private picnic spot.
Not every Las Alamandas room will have a television, but the main building has a relaxing and elegant art gallery and lounge, with satellite TV, games, books, and a full selection of movies. On display are arts and handcrafts by local artisans. Las Alamandas also boasts a fully equipped fitness center, and it caters to families with children at their Kids Club, a sophisticated mini-resort just for the young vacationer, with supervised games and activities, as well as a play area with a lush lawn next to the beach. You can purchase authentic souvenirs, beachwear, and personal items at the resort's boutique.
Like most Mexico luxury hotels, the Las Alamandas Beach Resort offers all the activities you normally expect in a resort beach area. There is tennis, badminton, basketball, table tennis, and much more. The four beaches offer swimming and sunbathing opportunities, and the resort has boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, and other beach gear. You can arrange scuba diving trips, whale watching cruises, and deep-sea fishing expeditions. There are dozens of hiking trails, and complimentary mountain bikes are available.
As one of the boutique Mexico luxury hotels the Las Alamandas Beach Resort is very intimate, with only six villas and accommodating no more than 30 guests. If you're using a Mexico car rental, the 81-mile drive south from Puerto Vallarta typically takes about two hours. It is about a 90-minute drive north of Manzanillo. The resort will arrange for airport transfers from either city's airport, and there is a private landing strip for guests who fly in on private aircraft, though customs and immigration must be cleared in either Manzanillo or Puerto Vallarta. You can book your Las Alamandas room with breakfast only, or with three meals a day. If you're deciding when to go, be aware that there is more rain in this region from June to about mid-October.
