Playa Norte Mazatlan, located north of downtown and along the seaside Malecon, has beautiful white stretches of fine, soft sand. While the waves can be gentle at times, they can also be quite strong, meaning that this is not always the best beach for swimming, unless you stay close to shore and the lifeguard areas.

One of the best features of North Beach Mazatlan is its peaceful atmosphere, which can be a welcome break from busier Mazatlan beaches such as Playa Gaviotas. There is just enough bustle here to keep things moving, and the vendors, shops, and restaurants ensure that visitors have plenty of access to anything they might need for a day at the beach.
Three miles of luxurious white sand invite vacationers to enjoy sunbathing, and it’s also possible to try water sports such as body-boarding and fishing. North Beach Mazatlan is an excellent place to cast a line at any time of the day; at the point on this stretch of sand are several large rocks, where many fishermen choose as the best place to throw one into the water. Those interested in surfing will find the best waves in this area at the northern end of Playa Norte Mazatlan.
Not too far from the city, just secluded enough to enjoy moments of tranquility as well as those pleasing moments of excitement, and plenty of refreshments to quench all thirsts, North Beach Mazatlan has the best of both worlds.
