Playa del Carmen Cabanas

Playa del Carmen cabanas, which are essentially akin to cottages and bungalows, are very popular with tourists. These lodging structures offer all of the comforts of a hotel room, though since they typically stand alone, the privacy level is higher. In addition to added privacy, the Playa del Carmen bungalows enjoy proximity to the waters of the Caribbean Sea. In fact, most sit right on the sand and are just steps away from the beaches.
The Playa del Carmen cabanas can be called a variety of things. Often times, you will hear them referred to as palapas. A palapa is loosely described as a thatched roof abode with open sides. Should you book one that can be found in Playa del Carmen, you won't have to fall asleep with nothing separating you from the outside world. Sturdy shutters are most often in place and serve to close off any and all openings when desired. Otherwise, you can leave these shutters open and enjoy the fresh ocean breezes. If your cabana or palapa isn't found right on the beach, it will likely enjoy a garden setting and be just a short walk to the sand, so all in all, these kinds of accommodations are ideal for the beach enthusiast on a Playa del Carmen vacation.
Regardless of what you call them, the Playa del Carmen cabanas can be great places to stay when a relaxing beach vacation is what you crave. One of the local lodging establishments that is known for its excellent cabanas is the Hotel Las Palapas. At this beachfront retreat, bungalows, palapas, and cabanas are all listed among the lodging choices. Some of these guest units come more in the form of a hotel room that is found in a larger bungalow-style building. If you want a more private experience, you can hope to book one of the stand alone beach bungalows. There are seven of these coveted bungalows, and they feature thatched roofs, two queen beds, tile floors, a ceiling fan, and a private bathroom with a shower. Whether you book a room or a detached bungalow at the Hotel Las Palapas, you will enjoy a Mamitas Beach location, which is a big part of the overall allure. This is easily one of the best beaches in the region and is close to the heart of downtown Playa.
Another Playa del Carmen hotel that you will want to add to your list when trying to find bungalows, cabanas, and palapas is the Mahekal Beach Resort. Situated on tranquil Shangri La Beach on the northern side of Playa, this inviting resort is a fine place to relax. Guests often find themselves swaying on a hammock outside of their beach bungalows, and it's just steps to the sand. All of the guest units are air conditioned at the Mahekal Beach Resort, and artistic touches only add to the allure. Perhaps the king of the guest units is the Deluxe Beachfront Casita. Native hardwood furnishings, a two-person shower with ocean views, and a private plunge pool that overlooks the beach are just some of its amenity highlights.
If you wish to add to your choices when it comes to the Playa del Carmen bungalows, there are other places to consider in the general area. One such place is Coco's Cabanas. Found on a beach just a few minutes north of Playa proper, Coco's is known for its relaxing atmosphere and its charming bungalow accommodations. It can also be a good place to go if you want to get something to eat or drink. A restaurant and a bar are among the facilities. Among the offerings at the restaurant are pizzas that are cooked in a wood-burning oven, juicy steaks, and grilled lobster. If you're just dropping by for some beverages, the bar has an ample selection of wines, beers, and cocktails.
