Juneau Cruise Dock

The Juneau cruise dock is a rightly impressive place. Juneau may be Alaska’s capital, but it is an isolated place, caught between the sea to the west and rugged mountains to the east. As a result, no roads lead to Juneau; instead, accessing this splendid city is only possible by air or plane. The Juneau cruise dock is an essential place, then, for the livelihood of the city as a whole. Centrally located and surrounded by picture-perfect Alaskan scenery, the Juneau cruise dock is a fittingly memorably start to a vacation here.

Many of these vacations tend to come in the form of cruises, with the Holland America line plying a popular Alaskan route that disembarks for a handful of shore excursions here. Consequently, the dock is effectively also one massive Juneau cruise ship terminal, and it’s not uncommon to see more than one monster cruise ship sleeping in its waters.

If you do happen to disembark at the Juneau cruise ship terminal, many of the city’s main attractions are a stone’s throw away. For example, the downtown area, which offers an array of shopping, dining, and drinking opportunities, is only a short walk away from the docking bay. Other standout Juneau attractions such as the breathtaking Mendenhall Glacier are also easily accessible from the dock.
