Amara Resort and Spa

The Amara Resort and Spa deserves mention among the best hotels in Sedona. Set along the banks of Oak Creek in Sedona, this stylish boutique hotel boasts a wonderful location, but that's far from the only perk. Amara Resort and Spa guests will find that the hotel’s amenities are extensive, the rooms are beautiful, and the excellent location provides options for many things to do on the side, from hiking near Red Rock to visiting the city's unusual collection of vortexes. Also available are a wide range of services, such as laundry and room service, and prospective guests are encouraged to keep the many options for lodging packages in mind.

The AAA Four Diamond Amara Resort and Spa is essentially everything that a good boutique hotel should be. It offers plenty of style and has a sophisticated edge, and the wide range of amenities is sure to impress. A relatively low room count is also something that most boutique hotels are known for, and in keeping with the trend, there is a total of only 100 Amara Resort and Spa rooms, which helps create an intimate environment where guests don’t feel overwhelmed by an abundance of other people. The lush bedding and comfortable furniture help with the comfort in the rooms as well; this is the type of hotel where relaxing in your room is one of the most appealing aspects of a stay.

Found at 100 Amara Lane in Sedona’s Uptown area, the Amara Resort and Spa offers proximity to numerous shops and restaurants. And while you can make the trip in a rental car or on foot, guests can also rely on complimentary transportation when they're ready to head into town to explore the shops and restaurants, which is no small thing on the hottest days of the year. Other examples of things that the helpful Amara Resort staff can arrange are restaurant reservations, helicopter tours, hot air balloon rides, Jeep tours, hiking adventures, and horseback riding trips.

Amara Resort and Spa guests don’t have to leave the hotel grounds when looking to stay busy. Among the wonderful facilities at this Sedona hotel are an excellent signature restaurant, called Hundred Rox, as well as several lounges, a fitness room, and a handy business center. The full-service Amara Spa also figures among the facility highlights, and though you can choose to pay for additional spa services, guests are allowed complimentary use of the Amara Spa steam room and relaxation room, and there are complimentary morning yoga classes at the resort as well.

No discussion about the Amara Resort and Spa would be complete without mentioning its swimming pool. The lovely pool at the Amara is the only saltwater pool in the area. While swimming or sunbathing at the pool, guests will see the amazing views of Sedona’s famous red rocks, and therein lies much of the allure—it's impossible to beat the sense of relaxation at this resort. A hot tub is also available for guest use, and as is true of the pool, it is open daily from 7 am to 10 pm. It should also be noted that Amara guests have access to the Oak Creek swimming hole, which is located just outside the resort grounds.

Complementing the pool at the Amara Resort is a wonderful patio that can make for a fantastic place to hang out both night and day. Wonderful red rocks views can be savored from the Amara patio, and taking in a sunset from this privileged vantage point can be a magnificent thing. Once the sun goes down, stargazing becomes a popular patio activity, and should it get chilly out, there is a fire pit to cozy up to, where nightly guitar performances add to the relaxing and often romantic atmosphere. The Amara patio is connected to the hotel’s signature restaurant, so it is possible to enjoy al fresco drinks and dining as well.
