Tempe Music Festival

Tempe Music Festival patrons can now ride the METRO Light Rail to get from Phoenix to the Tempe Beach Park and back, and this only makes the festival more attractive than ever. Scheduling issues may have caused the postponement of the 2010 events, but this relatively large music festival near Phoenix stands poised to resume the festivities, maintaining its position as one of the best annual music festivals in Arizona.

Thanks in part to the presence of Arizona State University, Tempe makes for a fine music festival host, and you can bet that many ASU students keep this April festival on the radar. You don't have to be a college kid to enjoy the Tempe Music Festival, as this event essentially caters to all ages. For kids, rocking out at the Lil' Rockers Kid's Zone can be a blast. It offers a stage full of instruments that kids can play with and enjoy.

The Tempe Music Festival lineup features some big name acts and some lesser-known acts, both of which combine to offer patrons a fully array of live music. The festival spans two days, and there are three different stages for spectators to check out. In the past, the Tempe Music Festival lineup has featured such acts as The Gin Blossoms, Jeff Beck, Blues Traveler, Fergie, and a host of other renowned artists. This has helped to make it one of the top-rated festivals in the Phoenix area. Local and regional bands also look forward to this annual event, as one of the stages showcases them. Complementing the great Tempe Music Festival lineup are some interesting side attractions, and the beautiful spring weather only helps to make things more enjoyable.

The Tempe Music Festival got its start in 2003, and it didn't take long for it to make its mark on the annual Phoenix area events schedule. All efforts are made by the organizers of this excellent music festival near Phoenix to attract what they label as "top-tiered talent," and for the lesser-known bands, having a chance to get their name out there is an awesome thing. Helping to make this festival such a great event is the fact that part of the proceeds go to charity.

The Phoenix area is a culturally-rich region, thanks in part to events like the Tempe Music Festival, and if you can't make it to Tempe in April, there will be tons of other opportunities to catch some live music on a Phoenix vacation. The Downtown Phoenix theaters and sports venues often serve as concert venues, and that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the possibilities.

For those who have their heart set on enjoying the Tempe Music Festival, the Tempe Beach Park can be found within walking distance of Arizona State University's main campus. Plenty of parking is available via uncovered lots that are about a quarter-mile west of the park. Parking fees apply at the lots, making the cheaper Light Rail transportation attractive to those who want to save their money for the festivities.

The Tempe Music Festival near Phoenix is held over a two-day period in April, with a Friday and a Saturday being the chosen days. Since the Tempe hotels can fill up fast when the event rolls around, those who want to stay in Tempe proper are encouraged to make their reservations in advance. The festivities get under way at 5 p.m. on Friday, and the fun doesn't stop until Midnight. The hours are the same on Saturday, allowing for plenty of opportunities to enjoy some live music.
