Cheap San Francisco Hotels

Cheap San Francisco Hotels
Cheap San Francisco Hotels | Fishermans Wharf Hotels

San Francisco, California can be an expensive city, and real estate here is certainly at a premium.  There are always ways to save money when traveling, however, and when in town, the San Francisco budget hotels are numerous enough to provide you with some great choices.  Whether you want to be close to Fisherman’s Wharf, or closer to the lively Union Square area, there are some nicely-priced options for San Francisco hotels strewn about town.  For help finding cheap San Francisco hotels, you might consider booking a stay in one of the following on your San Francisco vacation.

At 54 Fourth Street, The Mosser is a wonderful pick for cheap San Francisco hotels that is a great alternative to staying in a hostel.  It’s location is ideal, with AT&T Park, Union Square and Fisherman’s Wharf all close by, and nearby public transportation options make getting around easy.  The 112 “Duluxe” rooms here are very nice for the price, and if you are on a tight budget, there are 54 economical rooms that will have you sharing a hall bath.  All the amenities are the same across the board, and you will certainly appreciate the nice, modern decor found throughout.  Comfortable beds with nice linens, CD-player stereos, two-line telephones, dataports, guest robes, hair dryers, and cable TV are just some of the in-room benefits.  For a small fee, you can access the hotel’s wireless internet connection, and there is also a nearby internet café where you can check emails and plan day trips.  The recently renovated Annabelle’s hotel restaurant is a fancy-looking bistro-style eatery, with a full bar and a nice wine selection.  The rates here do not include parking and breakfast, which is about the only drawback.  Otherwise, you will be surprised at how luxurious a stay here can feel when you consider the price.

Understandably, a hotel’s staff can go a long way in making your stay at one of the cheap hotels in San Francisco all the better.  Such is the case as the affordable Redwood Inn, which is located at 1530 on the famous Lombard Street.  This inn is clean and comfortable, and though the rooms are fairly basic, they are generally spacious and sufficient enough.  Each room has cable TV with HBO, a coffee maker, a private bathroom, and a mini-fridge.  Non-smoking rooms are available, and you can also request a microwave, a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.  The notable “crooked” section of Lombard Street is just a mile away, and you can walk to Fisherman’s Wharf and Ghirardilli Square.  Helping to keep your budget in check is the hotel’s free parking, and its complimentary internet access and morning breakfasts.  Safe and practical for those who plan to spend little time in their rooms, and more time visiting all the nearby attractions, the Redwood Inn is among the top bets for cheap San Francisco hotels.

At 2775 Van Ness Avenue, the Comfort Inn By the Bay also enjoys a wonderful location, and it is a worthy candidate for consideration when weighing your options for cheap San Francisco hotels.  The free breakfast buffet here is among the top perks, saving you extra money, and if you ask, you might get one of the rooms with views of the Golden Gate Bridge.  Other money-saving features include the free coffee, wireless internet access, daily newspaper, and local calls.  Standard room amenities apply here, with specifics including cable TV, in-room safes, irons and ironing boards, hair dryers, and a private bathroom.  The Comfort Inn By the Bay also has a tour desk to help you plan excursions effectively and efficiently.  Chinatown isn’t far off, and plenty of more attractions can be found nearby, as can a list of public transportation options.  There is limited parking available, and so you may end up paying extra for that, but for the price and location, finding a better choice for cheap hotels in San Francisco might be trying.

If you are looking to attach a little Rock n’ Roll flare to your San Francisco getaway, then the landmark Phoenix Hotel should make your list of possible San Francisco budget hotels.  Past guests here include Joan Jett, Little Richard, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, The Shins and so many more, and this hip hotel certainly exudes a creative character.  Known as the city’s “Rock and Roll Hotel”, the Phoenix Hotel has a great pool that features a pool-bottom mural by artist Francis Forlanza, and other art findings include original works in the guest rooms and courtyard sculptures.  There is a classic motel feel to the rooms here, which were recently updated.  There are a few room and suite options to choose from, with general amenities including free WiFi internet, iron and ironing board, cable TV, a hair dryer, and dataports.  The Deluxe King rooms and the suites here also feature coffee makers, microwaves and refrigerators.  And, how can you not mention the hotel’s Bambuddha Lounge, which is one of the city’s hottest restaurant/clubs.  Undoubtedly, those looking for a party atmosphere will find the Phoenix to more than meet their expectations for a good time, while those seeking a quiet hotel experience may prefer one of the aforementioned San Francisco budget hotels.  The Tenderloin neighborhood that borders the hotel is a bit edgy, which is also something to consider.
