Cypress Inn

The Cypress Inn, as is true of its home city of Carmel-by-the-Sea, is well-known for its dog-friendly approach. Guests are even allowed to dine alongside their four-legged friends at the onsite restaurant. The pet-friendly attitude of the Cypress Inn has largely been fostered by the hotel’s famous co-owner – Doris Day. One of the biggest box-office stars to ever grace the stage or the silver screen, Day has maintained a strong commitment to animal welfare throughout her life. She currently lives in Carmel-by-the-Sea with many pets by her side.

Stepping into the Cypress Inn lobby is like entering the home of a friend who has a good designing sense. The orange-red tiled floor offsets the cream-colored walls beautifully, and elegant furnishings serve as ideal accents. Perhaps the best thing about the Cypress Inn lobby, however, is that it connects to a restaurant and a lovely lounge room that boasts a stunning wood ceiling, a charming fireplace, and ample seating for guests and their pets. Often times, the Cypress Inn lounge plays host to Jazz performances, though its primary role is that of a comfortable living room where guests can relax and socialize.
