Disneyland New Year

A Disneyland New Year visit can see you enjoying some special entertainment extras. This famed theme park resort in Anaheim California goes all out during the holiday season. A variety of one-day bands are brought in to entertain the masses during the Disneyland New Years Eve celebrations, for example, and once midnight rolls around on December 31, a special fireworks show lights up the sky. The fun doesn't start or stop with the New Years Eve celebrations, however. The holiday season at Disneyland runs from early November through early January, and the resort is particularly festive during this period.

For those who are interested in the Disneyland New Years Eve experience, there are numerous things to consider. For starters, you can opt to celebrate at Disneyland Park proper or the adjacent Disney's California Adventure Park. Both are part of the larger Disneyland Resort. At Disneyland Park, you can catch the special holiday season Fantasy in the Sky fireworks at midnight, not to mention enjoy a fun party at the Rivers of America area. Live music is offered at both the Plaza Gardens Stage and the Tommorowland Terrace throughout the evening, and should you be celebrating with kids, you might enjoy the special party at Disneyland Castle. This party is hosted by Mickey and Minnie and lasts from 9 p.m. to midnight.

When dancing the night away is what you have in mind for your Disneyland New Year celebration, heading over to Disney's California Adventure Park might just be the option of choice. The Hollywood Backlot Stage area at California Adventure plays host to a club-style bash on New Years Eve, and you can put your salsa skills on display at the Latin-themed party that is held at the Pacific Wharf. Classic dance hits from the 1970s, '80s, and '90s are what you can expect at the Stage 17 party, which is held near Sunshine Plaza. The Disneyland New Years Eve dance parties that are held at California Adventure all start at around 9 p.m. and last until 1 a.m.

At Disney's California Adventure Park, Sunshine Plaza is the place to go if you want to catch the midnight fireworks display. As for the special holiday season pyrotechnic displays at Disneyland Park, they see dazzling fireworks exploding over Disneyland Castle. Those standing in front of the castle get some of the best views, though there are numerous vantage points worth considering. Many revelers gather along the Main Street corridor, and you can also enjoy great views from the Main Street Railroad Station. One of the advantages to watching the Disneyland Park New Years Eve fireworks from the Main Street Railroad Station is the fact that you won't be far from the main exit.

Regardless of what you have in mind for your Disneyland New Year celebration, arranging everything well in advance is recommended. The holiday season in general is a very busy time at Disneyland. The Disneyland hotels certainly fill up fast around New Years, and should you wait too long to get your admission tickets, you will likely be out of luck. Anyone with a Premium Annual Disneyland Passport will be able to enter Disneyland for free on New Years Eve. Everyone else will have to purchase an extra ticket. This includes all other season ticket holders.

It is worth noting that the rides and attractions at Disneyland Park remain open until 2 a.m. on New Years Eve. Over at the adjacent California Adventure Park, things wind down at 1 a.m. California Adventure Park is generally less crowded than Disneyland Park on New Years Eve. This means that you don't generally have to arrive as early in the day if you want to get in. Over at Disneyland Park, there are strict rules containing to maximum capacity, and once capacity is reached, no more visitors are allowed. As such, arriving early in the day is necessary if you hope to celebrate New Years Eve at Disneyland Park.
