Upon arrival at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, you will most likely find yourself in awe of its impressive sense of style. The resort's architectural design was inspired by the Arts and Crafts designs that were popular in the early 1900s. Craftspeople from California were brought in to add their own special touches, and measures were made to create an interior that is reminiscent of the Ahwahnee Hotel at Yosemite National Park. The overall air is both elegant and sophisticated, and you can learn more about the design and architecture by taking one of the Art of the Craft tours. These tours last approximately one hour and can be arranged at the Guest Services Desk.

After you check in and explore the dazzling lobby at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, you will most likely be anxious to settle in. All of the 745 rooms, suites, and villas offer a considerable amount of comfort, as well as a vast array of welcoming amenities. Standard guest amenities include a mini refrigerator, a safe for valuables, cozy robes, a hair dryer, cable TV, free Internet access, and an iron. While the standard rooms are anything but standard at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, guests can look to upgrade to a special concierge room, a spacious suite, or a well-equipped villa. Stay in a concierge level room, and the added perks will include access to an exclusive lounge where complimentary breakfasts, snacks, and wine can be enjoyed. The suites are essentially similar to the standard rooms, only they are larger, while the villas are true homes away from home. Full kitchens and private laundry facilities are among the villa amenities.

There's definitely more to Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa than great guest units. Outside of the rooms, suites, and villas, guests will find alluring facilities that aim to please. Among these facilities figure an upscale restaurant and a cafe-style eatery that features character dining opportunities. Complementing the restaurants are a snack bar that offers all kinds of treats and a soothing fireplace lounge with a full bar. Should you overindulge at the onsite eateries during your stay at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, which is easy to do, you can hit the 4,000-square-foot fitness center and burn off some calories. When a more relaxing experience is what you have in mind, a visit to the Mandara Spa might be in order. This luxury spa specializes in massages, facials, and a variety of other treatments and services. The services include salon services, so if nothing else, you can update your look.

When Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa guests aren't dining, working out, or treating themselves to rejuvenating spa sessions, they can swim in one of three different pools, kick back and relax in a poolside cabana, or visit the arcade and enjoy some gaming action. It's also possible to arrange fun things to do with the help of the Guest Services Desk or go shopping at the gift shops. This fantastic resort pretty much has it all.

Should you be interested in enjoying everything that the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa has to offer, you might keep an eye out for special deals. Grand Californian Hotel deals are most readily available during the off season, though you can often come across them during the peak periods as well. The peak periods are summer and the holidays. Regardless of when you visit, booking a package deal is one of the better ways to get a deal. Some Disney packages offer things such as a free night when you book a certain amount of nights, and you can also hope to find a package deal that also includes tickets for California Adventure and/or Disneyland Park.
