Together with Playa del Rey, El Segundo is one of the most convenient places
to base yourself in Los Angeles
County if you are arriving on a flight to LAX or are planning on departing
on one in the near future. Since tourism in El Segundo is not as developed as
it is in some of the other Los Angeles County cities, such as Manhattan
Beach and Venice Beach,
the choices for hotels here is not as prolific. In addition to lacking in number,
the El Segundo hotels are lacking in the way of luxury, so if it’s value-priced
Los Angeles accommodations that you seek, this might just be the ideal spot
for you. There aren’t any beach hotels in El Segundo, so if staying on the coast
is a priority, you might look elsewhere in the area. The Manhattan
Beach hotels and the Marina
Del Rey hotels include some nice waterfront establishments, so you might
start there. All in all, the El Segundo hotels offer good clean rooms at fair
prices, which is why they are always worth adding to your list of possible L.A.
accommodations. You can also look to area vacation
rentals if you need lodging in El Segundo, as there are some good ones to
While there are no beach hotels in El Segundo, the hotels that are here are hardly that far away from the coast. In fact, the El Segundo hotels are all grouped in the same relative area, which is further inland and closer to the airport. A short drive will be all that separates you from your hotel and the beaches in El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, and Redondo Beach. In addition to being found in the same general area, the El Segundo hotels also fall into the same relative price category. Among your best choices for lodging in El Segundo is the Hilton Garden Inn. Complimentary airport shuttle service is extended to guests who stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, and among the facilities that you will find once you get here are a nice outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, a business center, a meeting room, and a friendly restaurant. If you don’t feel like leaving the comfort of your room to dine, room service is available. As for the comfortable rooms here, they are not overly luxurious, but they definitely have it all over your average hotel room. To help you get a good night’s sleep, feather pillows and premium bedding are among the amenities, which also include a work desk with a chair, granite counter tops, complimentary internet access, a flat-screen cable TV, multiple line telephones, an MP3 clock radio, brand name bath products, and so much more. For what you pay at the Hilton Garden Inn El Segundo, you get a lot for you money.
You also get a lot for your money at the Doubletree Hotel El Segundo, which is also owned by the Hilton Company. The facilities at the Doubletree Hotel are akin to those that you will find at the Hilton Garden Inn, so you can expect to enjoy a great stay. There is also airport shuttle service available to guests here as well. Not much is different in the way of the rooms either, and among the additional amenities that you’ll get here include a refrigerator and signature beds. One of the best attributes of the Doubltree Hotel is its outdoor swimming pool, which is the largest outdoor pool in the city. Room service is offered to guests on a daily basis between the hours of 6 a.m and 11 p.m, so you can enjoy some meals without going out. That comes in handy if you’re tired from a round of golf or a long day of surfing. In addition to dining in your room, you can also hit the hotel’s hip lounge for a drink and a bite, or you might opt instead for a more formal meal in the full service restaurant.
As mentioned, there are no beach hotels in El Segundo, so unfortunately, you’ll have to stick to the hotels closer to town and the airport. Another good choice among these hotels is the Marriott Residence Inn LAX El Segundo, which is an all-suites hotel. Since it is an all-suites hotel, guests here can expect spacious rooms, all of which happen to include free high-speed internet access among their long lists of amenities. Free in-room coffee is also part of the deal when you book a suite here, as is a full kitchen, a work desk, a 2-line telephone, cable TV with movie channels, A/C, an alarm clock, premium bedding, individual climate control, a hair dryer, and more. Much like the aforementioned El Segundo hotels, the Marriott Residence Inn’s rooms are pretty luxurious, so you should have little to complain about. Included in the rates is a buffet breakfast, which will help you get your day started, and come afternoon, you might take to the hotel’s barbecue area for a relaxing picnic. On warmer days, the heated outdoor pool offers refreshment, while the whirlpool hot tub soothes tired muscles. Rounding out the facilities here are a fitness center and meeting venues, and while there is no restaurant here, you can find some nice eateries within the general area. Like the Hilton Company, Marriott has two hotels here that differ ever-so-slightly. The other one is the Courtyard by Marriott, which is an excellent alternative.
While the more expensive hotels in El Segundo are none too expensive as it is, you can go even cheaper if you like. No hotel close to LAX claims to have lower rates than the Hacienda Hotel and Conference Center. The rooms here are quite attractive, which is a pleasant surprise at this price, especially when you consider how expensive some of the other Los Angeles hotels can be. Overall, the decor of the rooms resembles what you might expect at a nice, mid-priced hotel. In addition to a tasteful decor, the 630 rooms at the Hacienda Hotel are also rather keen on amenities. These amenities include wireless internet access, satellite TV, movie options (additional charge), electronic locks, a telephone, and comfortable beds. Should you book a deluxe room, you’ll also have a coffee table, a work area, chairs, and a chair that converts into an extra bed for one. Suites are also available if you want added space. Interestingly enough, while some of the more expensive choices for lodging in El Segundo lack a restaurant, the Hacienda boasts 3, not to mention a sports bar and a dance club.
