Healdsburg California is a small town with big appeal. Much of that appeal is tied to wine. Healdsburg calls Sonoma County home, and surrounding the town are some of Northern California’s finest wine appellations. This is more than just a great destination for wine enthusiasts, however. Downtown Healdsburg is based around a 19th century plaza and offers plenty for the visitor to indulge in, including world-class shopping and an assortment of tempting restaurants. Healdsburg is an ideal place to go if you want to get a taste of what the Sonoma County wine country has to offer. The town is centrally located to three main wine regions and more than 100 wineries and tasting rooms. The names of the wine regions are the Alexander Valley, the Russian River Valley, and the Dry Creek Valley. Among the varietals that these regions are best known for are Zinfandels, Chardonnays, and Pinot Noirs. That being said, Healdsburg and the surrounding area offer wine styles for every palate. Generally, when taking Healdsburg wine tours, it is recommended that you stick to just one region per day and visit about four to six wineries per tour. When you’re not visiting the area wineries, you can treat yourself to wine tasting experiences at the more than 20 tasting rooms that are found in downtown Healdsburg.

The hotels in Healdsburg California cater to a wide variety of lodging preferences. There are chain brand motels and hotels to select from, as well as hotels and motels that aren’t affiliated with well-known chains. Resorts can also be found in the area, as can numerous inns and bed and breakfasts. Many of the Healdsburg hotels are rather upscale and intimate, which is good news for visitors who are looking for luxurious lodgings. Should saving money on Healdsburg lodging be the aim, on the other hand, the chain brand hotels and the L&M Motel are good places to start. Other lodging options in the Healdsburg California area include camping or booking a vacation rental. Sonoma County’s numerous vacation rental properties include beautiful homes and charming cottages.
