Los Angeles Beach Hotels
The Los Angeles beach hotels are some of the most highly sought after beach hotels in the United States, and for good reason. In addition to being found on or near some of the most notable beaches in Southern California, they are within easy reach of any other number of Los Angeles attractions. Guests of the Los Angeles beach hotels can also venture off to nearby Orange County with ease or head up the coast to such destinations as Malibu and Ventura. There is so much to see and do in the area that it is nearly impossible to get bored on Los Angeles beach vacations.
Santa Monica is one of the best places to begin a search for Los Angeles beach hotels. This community on the northern Los Angeles coast boasts inviting beaches, a famous pier, a tempting assortment of shops, and sufficient number of good restaurants. Also worth noting is that on a typical summer day, it can be up to 20 degrees cooler in Santa Monica than in other more inland parts of Los Angeles County. As for the Santa Monica hotels, they are easily some of the best beach hotels in all of Southern California. Examples of highly rated Santa Monica beach hotels include the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, the Fairmont Miramar (pictured), the Casa del Mar, and the Casa del Mar’s sister resort, Shutters. Casa del Mar, it should be noted, has what is widely considered to be the best hotel beachfront in Los Angeles. Shutters is a close second.
Los Angeles Beach Hotels
The oceanfront Santa Monica hotels offer some of the best views of the beach of any hotels in Los Angeles. This isn’t the only area that deserves attention for its wonderful atmosphere and beachfront bliss, however. Moving south along the coast, such Los Angeles area enclaves as Venice Beach, Marina Del Rey, and Playa del Rey represent other places to find beachfront accommodations. Venice Beach is well-known for its eclectic atmosphere and its ocean front walk, which is arguably one of the best places in the world to people watch. Several beachfront hotels with spacious suites are found on or near the beach in Venice Beach, and some of the hotels in this area figure among the most affordable Los Angeles beach hotels.
Ritz Carlton Marina del Rey
Just south of Venice Beach in Marina del Rey, you’ll find a good mix of hotels near the beach. These hotels range from a wallet-friendly Ramada to a Ritz-Carlton (pictured) that is better suited for luxurious Los Angeles beach vacations. As such, there are Marina del Rey hotels to satisfy a range of budgets and tastes. Just a bit further south, Playa del Rey offers the delightful Inn at Playa del Rey. This bed and breakfast is one of the best B&Bs in Los Angeles and caters to those who are interested in romantic Los Angeles beach escapes.
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Hermosa Beach
South of Playa del Rey is the city of El Segundo. In and around El Segundo, you will find one of the highest concentrations of cheap Los Angeles hotels near the beach. This isn’t exactly the best place to search for Los Angeles beach hotels that are directly on the sand, however, as the El Segundo hotels are inland. Further south yet, you come to three of Los Angeles’s better known beach communities – Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Redondo Beach. Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach in particular are home to a good number of beach hotels. The hotels in Manhattan Beach tend to be a little more removed from the beaches, probably because of the high coastal real estate prices in this neighborhood. It is worth noting that found along the Pacific Coast Highway in the Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Redondo Beach region are some of the most affordable Los Angeles hotels near the beach. Examples of such hotels include the Quality Inn & Suites Hermosa Beach and the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Hermosa Beach (pictured).
Up the down the coast in the Los Angeles area are any number of hotels that can satisfy those who want to be within easy reach of a beach. Occupying 102 oceanfront acres along the South Bay coastline is the luxurious and expansive Terranea Resort, for example (pictured here at at top), and up in Malibu is a collection of hotels near the sea. The Terranea Resort probably has the best oceanfront swimming pools in Los Angeles, thanks to the stunning coastal views that these outdoor pools provide. Up in Malibu, the hotels are more affordable on the whole than you might think, especially when you consider that Malibu is an upscale community. If the budget allows, however, Malibu visitors are encouraged to consider the Malibu Beach Inn. It is one of just a few high-end properties between Santa Monica and Santa Barbara.
