Malibu California

Malibu California is one of the most desirable destinations in Los Angeles and a home to many Hollywood stars. Malibu has over twenty miles of pristine, white-sand beaches where you can enjoy everything from surfing and jet skiing to fishing and boating. Most of the people that reside in Malibu CA live within just a few hundred yards of the famous Pacific Coast Highway, or PCH. Highway Number 1 runs the length of the Malibu coastline and is famous for its lovely views, and heading due south will take you to the Los Angeles area. There are many things to do in Malibu, including taking in the arts scene as well as the wide range of activities available on the awesome beaches.

Although there is a vibrant arts scene, amazing restaurants, and virtually endless outdoor activities, the action is primarily on the beach in Malibu. The climate in southern California makes it possible for people to enjoy the outdoors year round, and the beach and ocean for a good portion of the year. Paradise Cove, Zuma Beach, Pirate’s Cove, and Surfrider Beach are just a few of the hotspots in Malibu that are celebrated in so many posters, postcards, and other memorabilia. This, after all, was one of the places that the Beach Boys themselves sang about as a haven for surfers. Zuma Beach alone draws nearly 1 million visitors each and every year. People also enjoy sunbathing and just relaxing on the beach. There are public facilities and lifeguards at all of the public beaches and all of them are within close proximity of a variety of places to eat and drink.

Once you get your fill of the beach you should strongly consider exploring the other natural attractions of Malibu. Malibu Creek State Park, Point Mugu State Park, and the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area provide amazing opportunities for a wide range of activities, including hiking and mountain biking. The California State Parkland is situated in the hills of Malibu and provides opportunities for horseback riding and hiking. This is one of the best places to enjoy views of the San Fernando Valley, Santa Monica, and Santa Catalina Island.

Besides excellent beaches and endless outdoor activities, Malibu California also plays host to several popular annual events. The Malibu International Film Festival takes place every summer and is one of the most eagerly anticipated events every year. The Malibu Arts Festival gets going on the last weekend of July and the Chili Cookoff on Labor Day weekend is not to be missed. There are so many other things to do in Malibu that you may need a day planner to help keep it all organized. The Getty Villa is just a short drive in Pacific Palisades. There are several fine wineries in Malibu and the Pier is a wonderful place to enjoy unparalleled views of the ocean. You can bet that there is plenty of amazing seafood at the restaurants in Malibu, as well as casual eateries and stands where you can find all manner of snack foods. The Venice Boardwalk and Santa Monica Pier are just a few miles away as well. You will find that there is something for everyone to enjoy in Malibu.
