Moreno Valley

Moreno Valley is a Southern California city that can be found approximately halfway between Los Angeles to the west and Palm Springs to the east. According to the 2010 census, nearly 200,000 call this Riverside County city home, making it the county’s second-largest city after neighboring Riverside. For visitors, the location of Moreno Valley near Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley makes it an interesting destination. Within Moreno Valley itself, the Moreno Valley Mall combines with other stores to present some interesting shopping opportunities.

Lots of great attractions are within a short distance of Moreno Valley. Examples include the Lake Perris Recreation Area, the Riverside Art Museum, and the Palm Springs Tram. Locally, visitors can interest themselves in the city’s arts groups, its lovely city parks, and its array of year-round activities. Moreno Valley has miles of multi-use trails that can be used for such pursuits as hiking, biking, and horseback riding. In addition to the Lake Perris Recreation Area, other great places to go for some outdoor fun in the Moreno Valley area include Diamond Valley Lake and the Box Springs Mountain Reserve. From there, it is possible to branch out into any other number of regional parks. Even Joshua Tree National Park is within easy enough reach.
If you like to golf, then Moreno Valley can make for an excellent vacation destination. Within the city’s more immediate realms is the delightful Moreno Valley Ranch Golf Club (pictured). As is true of the other area courses, it offers plenty of beautiful desert scenery to go with its challenging holes. Over towards Palm Springs, a number of high quality courses only add to the choices for good places to tee it up. The Palm Springs area in general is home to some of the best California golf courses and golf resorts.
Several Moreno Valley hotels provide area visitors with some lodging options that are worth considering. Among the top places to stay while in town is the Ayres Hotel & Spa. Complementing this hotel are a number of chain brand establishments that also offer a lot in the way of comfort. Examples of such hotels include the Hampton Inn & Suites Moreno Valley and the La Quinta Inn & Suites Moreno Valley.
