Quintessa Vineyard

The Quintessa vineyard is the vision of a couple who dreamed of building the quintessential winery. In 1989 Valeria and Agustin Huneeus purchased the last undeveloped property in the Napa Valley, a clean slate for creating the vineyard they dreamed of. The 280 acres had the characteristics of a great vineyard property, but grapes had never been planted here before. The proprietor learned from the successes and mistakes of other vineyards over the previous 25 years and developed a great new option among Napa Valley vineyard tours. If you want to tour Quintessa, you must make an appointment in advance, but it's well worth the planning at the expense of spontaneity. Your tour will be individually tailored according to your requests and will show you the vineyards, winery, and caves where up to 3,000 bottles of wine are allowed to age.

The goal of the Quintessa vineyard was to produce one estate wine. This blend produces a unique vintage each year, since its premier in 1994. Sustainable practices will be discussed as you tour Quintessa, including how the winery maintains harmony between the soil and the grapes. Organic materials help to deal with pests, and strict care of the soil and environment ensures the quality of the product. If on your vacation you’re planning a few Napa Valley vineyard tours, the state-of-the-art design of this winery is worth a visit, and it's one that you're sure to remember as you sip the Quintessa wines long after you return home.
