Palm Springs Hotels

Palm Springs, California has seen its fair share of changes in recent decades, and it continues to see a resurgence of folks who enjoy its history as much as they do fixing up its period homes. World-class Palm Springs hotels join a range of budget options, with plenty of recommendable inns to choose from as well. It’s important to note that the November through May high season sees most hotels in Palm Springs raising rates significantly. Midweek stays during the high season, and off season stays are your best bets for Palm Springs hotel deals.

Speaking of Palm Springs hotel deals, the Casa Cody is a good bet for low rates, and with the picturesque San Jacinto Mountains close by, it boasts quite a nice setting. Plus, its location at 175 S. Cahuilla Road is convenient, as it’s just a short walk into town and a few blocks from Palm Canyon Drive. A niece of Wild Bill Cody was a one-time proprietor, hence the name, and restorations to the main house and courtyard pools has brought it into the modern age quite nicely. The outdoor pools are heated, and the hotel offers a poolside continental breakfast free to guests. If you want added privacy here, you might find interest in one of the detached units, which are nice, 2-bedroom abodes. Each room option here has a refrigerator and television, as well as air-conditioning, and some feature kitchenettes and fireplaces. Beautiful gardens and trees surround the Casa Cody, adding significantly to its appeal, and with an in-room massage as an option, you’ll find that you get a lot for a little at this wonderful choice for hotels in Palm Springs.

For a full taste of Palm Springs in all its past glory, a stay at the peculiarly-named Orbit In Oasis is probably in order. This groovy and well-run establishment was once a 1950's motel, and it has been renovated quite nicely. The rooms here are all decked out in intriguing furnishings that help to carry the “Classic Palm Springs” theme, and during the summer, you can rely on the general Palm Springs hotel deals to reflect in the hotel’s deflated rates. There is a 2-night minimum stay required at the Orbit In Oasis, and that is typical of many Palm Springs hotels. This is an adults only establishment, which only serves to cement it as one heck of a swinging Palm Springs hotel. The pool setting here encourages hanging out under the sun, and on hot days, the poolside misters help keep you refreshed. Modern touches are everywhere here, and the hotel’s private Jacuzzi and fire pit make for interesting nights under the stars. Guests can choose from spacious rooms that offer different settings and amenities, and the “70's Modern Townhouse” in the Tennis Club neighborhood, is available for rent for those looking for it all. All rooms here are luxurious, offering amenities such as safes, comfy robes, DSL internet access, coffemakers, hair dryers, and CD and record players. At the Orbitini bar, the daily cocktail hour is a guest favorite, and the cruiser bikes are free to use if you want to explore.

Sometimes people can make all the difference, and the owners of the Desert Riviera Hotel fit into that category. This is another great choice for Palm Springs hotels if you are looking for a taste of Palm Springs history. The hotel was originally constructed in 1951 by then-renowned architect, Herbert Burns. The retro feel is well done here, and you might find yourself thinking you are staying in a cozy home, as opposed to a hotel. There aren’t many rooms here, but they are fabulous for the price, with a list of amenities to take advantage of. For starters, complimentary limousine service, soda, water and welcome baskets are just part of what makes this a great Palm Springs hotel. Wireless internet access, coffemakers, blenders, flat-screen tv’s, CD/DVD players, and signature toiletries are just some of the other amenities, and the list goes on. In fact, you will certainly be impressed by what the price gets you at the Desert Riviera, and the staff can help you book a tee time at one of the great area golf courses, or find an ideal tour. In-room spa services can be enjoyed, and the hotel offers a library of DVD’s, books and more for guest use. All in all, this is simply one of the top-rated hotels in Palm Springs.

Of course, there are a good amount of luxury Palm Spring hotel offerings, and among the newest is the Le Parker Meridien Palm Springs hotel, which is found at 4200 E. Palm Canyon Dr. A $20 million-plus renovation has brought this property into the modern age, and people have taken notice of its design. There are two savory restaurants to enjoy here, one offering some very high-end eats. Of the four hotel pools, two are heated, and the red-clay tennis courts are usually highly sought after. The Parker has a renowned sister hotel in New York City, and between the two, they continue to make names for themselves. Suites, Patio Rooms and the Estate Rooms are the different accommodations to choose from, and each features a full list of amenities, from mini-bars and refrigerators, to high-speed internet access and CD/DVD/MP3 players. The Gene Autry House, which is a nice villa, is a guest favorite, and the hotel’s spa is finding its place among the top spas in Palm Springs. Golfers will appreciate the Parker’s ability to get them on all the finest area courses.
