Indian Springs Golf Course is located in the town of Indio, and is part of a complex that also includes the Heritage Palms Golf Course. Only a mile away is another complex dedicated to the sport that includes the Indian Wells Golf Course, Desert Horizons Country Club, Palm Desert and Oasis Country Clubs, El Dorado Country Club, Indian Ridge Country Club, Woodhaven Country Club, and the Lakes Golf Course.
There are several excellent resorts in this area, including the Indian Wells Resort founded by Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in 1957—the first resort actually located on a golf course. Also around the Indian Springs Golf Club are numerous vacation rentals, some of which are on resorts. Luxury homes, condo rentals, and timeshares are also available in the area.
The Indian Springs Golf Course is open to the public, and rated one of the best such public facilities in the Coachella Valley. A golf day costing under $100 is rare in this slightly ritzy area, but you can find one here. If you come during the summer, it’s about half price, and there are even cheaper twilight times available. There are 6,771 yards on the course’s 18 holes, with a par of 72. It is known for its beautifully conditioned fairways and impeccable greens that are well respected in the sport. It is an excellent course for novice duffers as well as more experienced players. The Indian Springs Golf Club boasts a staff of pros available for instruction and partnering, a practice area, a clubhouse grill, and facilities for special events.
