Mission Hills Golf Club is in the city of Palm Springs and located about three miles east of the airport. The Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa lines one side of Pete Dye Golf Course, one of four courses within the golf complex. The Westin is one of the Palm Springs luxury hotels, with traditional hotel-style rooms and suites, a variety of dining options, and a full-service spa. In addition to lovely landscaped gardens, there is a large swimming pool (three total swimming pools) area, one of which boasts a 60-foot water slide and two spas. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to use the water slide. One pool is reserved for adults only, so it’s possible to enjoy the facilities away from those with children.
You can play Mission Hills golf at the Westin Hotel on two distinct courses—the Gary Player Signature Course and the Pete Dye Course. Each boasts 18 holes and each is graced with lakes, waterfalls, and other water features. The resort offers vacation packages that include family packages, golf packages, spa packages, and combinations of all three. There are also facilities to cater special events like weddings. You can also get in some Mission Hills golf at the Westin Hotel at two other main courses—the Dinah Shore Course and Mission Hills North Course. The Dinah Shore Course has been hosting the Kraft Nabisco Championship (often still called the Dinah Shore Tournament after the actress who established it in 1972 and was a strong supporter of professional women’s golf), one of the four most prestigious golf tournaments on the LPGA schedule.
The Mission Hills Golf Club is more than just an elite country club for golf. There are 34 hard, grass, and clay tennis courts that host Davis Cup events, an internationally respected croquet club, and a 17,000 square foot fitness center and spa complex. You don’t have to go far to find a golf course in the Coachella Valley, but staying and playing here gives you a real variety all in one place.
