Poppy Hills Golf Course If you like Northern California Golf and are looking for a golf vacation package in California, consider the Poppy Hills Golf Course, located on the Monterey Peninsula in Pebble Beach California. This Northern California Golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1986. The Poppy Hills Golf Course, along with the Pebble Beach Golf Course and the Spyglass Hill Golf Course plays host to the PGA AT&T Tournament, which usually takes place in February. It was the first course in the United States to become owned and operated by an amateur golf association, the National Golf Association. Its proximity to the Pebble Beach Golf Course adds to its popularity.

Poppy Hills Golf Course Golf Digest has ranked the Poppy Hills Golf Course in the top 20 golf courses in California. Golf World Business Magazine rated its pro shop amongst the top 100 golf shops in the United States. The Poppy Hills Golf Course has also been named Golf Course of the Year by the National Golf Course Owners Association. If these facts alone do not convince you that the Poppy Hills Golf Course is the perfect place for a Northern California golf holiday, read on.

Poppy Hills Golf Course The course alone at the Poppy Hills Golf Course should convince you that this is an ideal place for a golf vacation package in California. This stunning Northern California golf course is a par 72 that is set amongst the beautiful trees of the Del Monte forest. Watch out for the dogleg holes as the course meanders through the forest. Because of the elevated greens and undulating slopes, putting may be a bit of a challenge. Most of the holes have at least one bunker and a pond that is patiently waiting to trick you up. The second hole is a par three which has two greens. This allows for a number of pin positions. It is also interesting to note that the Course at the Poppy Hills Golf course actually has five par three holes and five par five holes. Most other golf courses only have four at the most.

Poppy Hills Golf Course The course measures at 6, 861 yards and is rated at 74.6. Spikeless or non-metal spike golf shoes are required. Collared shirts and Bermuda shorts are required. The Poppy Hills Golf Course is also relatively close to the Pebble Beach Golf Course. If you are planning a golf vacation package in California, it will be fun to play at both courses.
