Coronado Beach Hotels
For visitors to the San Diego area, the hotels in Coronado Beach present a fine mix of lodging choices. Whether you stay at one of the Coronado Beach resorts or opt instead for a discount motel, you’ll not only be close to some great beaches, but all the other San Diego area attractions as well. Warm year-round temperatures mean that there’s never a bad time to visit Coronado Beach, and since there is plenty in the way of lodging here, you can surely find the right place to rest your head after a fun-filled day. For those who are considering something other than a hotel or a resort stay, the Coronado Beach vacation rentals are in good supply, so you can add those to the list of possible accommodations to help expand your choices.

When it comes to the Coronado Beach hotels, no discussion would be complete without mention of the famous Hotel del Coronado, or “The Del” as it is often called. Resting on 28 glorious beachfront acres, this National Historic Landmark has been a favorite with visitors since it opened way back in 1888. Recent renovations to the tune of $150 million have The Del looking better than ever. There are no less than 679 well-appointed guest rooms at the Hotel del Coronado, and for those seeking a bit more in the way of privacy, there are also a 78 villas and cottages to choose from in the resort’s new Beach Village area. A full range of services are available to guests at this king of the Coronado Beach hotels. Should you want to escape to Sea World San Diego or something the like, the concierge service is a big help. There’s even a rental car desk here. As for the amenities that guests can expect in their rooms and suites, the list is a long one. Complimentary bath products, guest robes, a mini-bar, cable TV, internet access, a Nintendo gaming system, and a daily newspaper are among the perks. You can also request a nightly turndown service, and 24-hour room service is also available. As for the overall resort facilities, they include event space for meetings or weddings, a salon, a spa, an impressive pool with multiple facilities of its own, a fitness center, and three excellent restaurants. This place pretty much has it all, which is why it’s one of the more popular California beach resorts.
The Hotel del Coronado isn’t your only choice for Coronado Beach resorts, and among the other options are the Coronado Island Marriott Resort and Spa and the Loews Coronado Bay Resort. Both of these Coronado Beach resorts are luxurious in their own rights, though they can’t match the history and Victorian opulence that The Del boasts. That’s fine by most guests, however, as the majority find the rooms, the facilities, and the service at both the Marriott and the Loews resorts to be impressive enough. In addition to these resorts, visitors seeking luxury hotels in Coronado Beach can also book a stay at the lovely Glorietta Bay Inn.
Like The Del, the Gloretta Bay Inn is a historical gem, its main Edwardian mansion a must-see for architectural buffs. Guests at this upscale boutique hotel can choose a room or suite in one of the buildings surrounding the mansion, or stay in the mansion itself. The Mansion Rooms are the most luxurious of the guest units, though the more standard Inn Suites are also hard to find fault with. For those who want added space and the convenience of kitchen facilities, the Inn Suites are bound to please. The amenities in each guest unit are simply too many to fully list. Among them are CD players, DVD players, in-room safes, individual temperature control, a fridge, air conditioning, cable TV, and internet access. A complimentary breakfast and free afternoon snacks are included in the rates, and for a small fee you can get a pass to a local fitness center. A heated outdoor pool and a Jacuzzi round out the facilities, and while there are no restaurants onsite, there are plenty of good ones within walking distance.
To enjoy the beaches of Coronado Island and San Diego area attractions like the San Diego Zoo, you don’t have to book a stay in an upscale resort or hotel. There are some nice mid-priced hotels in Coronado Beach where you can still get a very comfortable room, but at a more comfortable rate. Among them are the La Avenida Inn, the Coronado Inn, and the Best Western Suites Hotel Coronado Island. If value-priced Coronado Beach hotels are what you’re after, then you can hardly go wrong with El Rancho Motel. Don’t forget that in addition to the Coronado Beach resorts and hotels, there are also vacation rentals to choose from. The Coronado Beach vacation rentals come in many forms, and all are stocked with ample amenities to help make your stay a most comfortable and enjoyable one. You can also look to the nearby Imperial Beach lodging choices if you want to be close to all that Coronado Island has to offer.
