It is not at every old museum that you can walk in and see this modernist collection of art including the work of the fabled Pablo Picasso. At the Balboa Park Art Museum in San Diego, however, this is all a part of the fantastic experience you can expect.

The San Diego Museum of art is also well known for its engaging and thoughtfully selected permanent exhibits. The European Art Collection includes artists such as Cotan and Goya and primarily features artists from up until 1960. The fantastic American Art Collection is exceptionally popular at the Balboa Park Art Museum, featuring works of artists such as Mary Cassatt, John Sloan, and Thomas Sully. There is also an Asian Art Collection and a Contemporary Art Collection that comprise two more compelling aspects of the overall museum experience in San Diego.
