Sleep Train Amphitheatre

Sleep Train Amphitheatre is an outdoor concert venue located in Chula Vista, California, just outside San Diego. Accommodating just under 20,000 spectators in a combination of concert and lawn seating, it is the largest and most popular concert venue in the area. On a rural site that was once a dairy farm, the amphitheatre and an adjacent water park originally opened in 1998. The venue sold out its first concert within a month. Today, the amphitheatre is owned by Live Nation Entertainment, whose partnership with Sleep Train mattress company in January 2013 resulted in the current name, Sleep Train Amphitheatre. Sleep Train intends to use the space to host two donation charity events for foster children every year. The adjacent water park was recently purchased by SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment and will reopen as Aquatica San Diego in 2013.
