At Union Square, the Warwick Regis hotel is a great mid-priced option for those seeking old world charm and a lively city atmosphere.  About as downtown as you can be, this nice choice for San Francisco hotels is exquisitely decorated and you can tell that the owners pay attention to detail.  European antiques are found throughout the hotel, and the rooms are small, but overflowing with charm.  All the rooms here were renovated in 2002, and if you are enjoying a romantic liaison, you might choose to book a room with a fireplace and canopy bed.  Dataports, cable TV, an in-room safe, wireless internet access, a mini-bar and a hair dryer and iron are some of the amenities you can expect at this well-priced establishment.  The hotel restaurant is a great place to hang out for a bit and refuel and relax, and 24-hour rooms service is a nice added touch.  Parking will cost you extra here, and there is a small fee to use a nearby health club.  In town for a show?  This Theater District location should prove convenient. 


A Ritz Carlton hotel is always a good bet for luxurious accommodations, and when it comes to 5-star service and ultra-luxurious rooms, it’s hard to top the San Francisco Ritz Carlton, which is located at 600 Stockton Street, in the heart of the city.  A $12.5 million renovation has only served to make this Ritz Carlton offering better than ever, and it remains a Nob Hill landmark.  Waterford Crystal candelabras and even a couple Louis XVI marble urns are just some of the impressive decorative pieces found in this stunning luxury hotel, whose bathrooms alone are enough to warrant the hefty rates.  If you spend a bit extra on your room, you can enjoy some wonderful city views from Nob Hill’s south side, and the top-floor Club Rooms are fit for a king, indeed.  The impressively-formal main hotel restaurant offers an elegant fine dining experience, and the more casual Terrace Restaurant features Mediterranean-inspired fare.  There is also an nice lounge in the lobby, where you can relax with a cocktail and enjoy some tasteful entertainment.  2 other bars can be found in the hotel, and its indoor, heated pool, steam room and Jacuzzi are spectacular.  If you wish to put on an unforgettable event in San Francisco of just about any kind, the Ritz has 12 function rooms to choose from.  As you can imagine, the rooms here lack no amenity, from wireless internet access, to 400-thread count linens.  The 24-hour room service is impeccably orchestrated, and the hotel’s fitness center and available spa treatments will keep you at your best.
