Stinson Beach Hotels

When you’re looking to enjoy a relaxing coastal getaway in California, the Stinson Beach hotels and vacation rentals are certainly worth looking into. Stinson Beach is an ideal destination for those who love the outdoors, and since it is found just north of San Francisco, you can also include plenty of urban pursuits on the itinerary during your visit. While April through September is the peak tourist season in Stinson Beach, booking a stay here at any other time of the year is encouraged as well if you just want to get away from it all. So check out your options for lodging in Stinson Beach as the first leg of your trip planning.
The Stinson Beach hotels are not exactly numerous, and they are also not large, so it’s always a good idea to book your stay in advance if you are going the hotel route. Among the hotel choices here are a motel and a couple of inns, and while none of these establishments are overly luxurious, they should provide most guests with all that they will need to enjoy a pleasant stay. The Stinson Beach Motel offers eight cozy rooms, some of which have small kitchens for those who plan on preparing some of their own food. Most guests find the simple, yet well-kept units at the Stinson Beach Motel to be more than adequate, and while the amenities aren’t overflowing, you will enjoy deluxe sheets on your queen-size bed, a sparkling private bathroom, and cable TV. Those with more than two people in their group can hope to get one of the cottage rooms, which sleep up to four. You’re just a short walk from the beach and from town when you stay at the Stinson Beach Motel, so you can hardly beat the location.
When it comes to romantic getaways in California, the Stinson Beach inns are probably a better fit than the Stinson Beach Motel. Like the Stinson Beach Motel, both the Sandpiper Inn and the Redwoods Haus Bed and Breakfast enjoy great locations that have you close to the beach and everything in town. You can also easily access the hiking trails on Mt. Tamalpais from these inns should you feel like it. There are only ten guests units a the Sandpiper Inn, and four of these units are cabins that offer a bit more in the way of space and privacy. The guest rooms here are the nicest in town, at least when it comes to hotel-style lodging in Stinson Beach, and the rates are competitive, which is also a great thing. Comfortable queen-size beds are standard in each guest unit at the Sandpiper Inn, and in the larger cabin units the bathrooms have tubs in addition to showers. The cabin units also boast full kitchens, while the room units offer some kitchen facilities, such as a coffee maker, a microwave, and a refrigerator. Other amenities that each unit features are cable TV, a DVD player, a VCR, and a gas fireplace.
Couples will find the Sandpiper Inn to be a delightfully relaxing retreat to return to after a day on the beach, or perhaps even after a day trip to the Napa Valley. This is also true of the Redwoods Haus Bed and Breakfast, which is a better fit for those on a budget, or for those who just prefer a more funky establishment. There are five uniquely-decorated rooms at the Redwoods Haus, and while they are rather simple and don’t feature private bathrooms, they are well-priced and provide queen-size beds and cable TV. Complimentary internet access is also available in the guest rooms. Should you be willing to pay a bit extra, you can book one of the two larger rooms at the Redwoods Haus. Both feature a more contemporary decor, not to mention private terraces. The Redwoods Haus B&B definitely isn’t a candidate for luxury lodging in Stinson Beach, but many guests return time and again because of the laid-back atmosphere and the overall value.
If the Redwoods Haus B&B and the other Stinson Beach hotels don’t suit your needs, you can always stay at one of the San Francisco hotels and visit Stinson Beach on the side, or you might look to the nearby Point Reyes hotels for more choices. As mentioned, there are also some Stinson Beach vacation rentals to consider, and they, unlike the Stinson Beach hotels, are in rather good supply. The Stinson Beach vacation rentals can come in the form of a small cottage, or be multi-bedroom homes, and most are fairly well-equipped. There are luxury Stinson Beach vacation rentals available, so if it’s a luxurious getaway that you’re after, you can find your match. In addition to ample furnishings, added space, kitchen facilities, and cable TV, most of the Stinson Beach vacation rentals also offer DVD players, decks or patios, and ocean views. As such, it’s easy to see why many visitors choose to book a vacation rental over a hotel when looking for lodging in Stinson Beach.
