Curry Village Tent

Curry Village | El Capitan | Half Dome | Tenaya Lodge | Yosemite Lodge

Curry Village Tent - Surrounding Curry Village Yosemite National Park is immediately recognizable by the mass of white canvas tents packed together on Yosemite Valley’s south slope. In 1899 Yosemite Curry Village was founded as an inexpensive lodging option for Yosemite National Park. Although the $2 a night rates are no longer available it’s still pretty economical, especially since you do not have to bring your own tent.

Curry Village Tent - Inside Yosemite Curry Village is often referred to as “People Central.” This is probably due to the fact that Yosemite Curry Village is the largest lodging facility in the entire Yosemite Valley. Because of its rustic environment, Curry Village Yosemite National Park is sometimes called “Camp Curry.”

The lodging options at Yosemite Curry Village include motels, cabins with and without private restrooms/showers. For those who would prefer a more rugged experience, Curry Village Yosemite National Park has tent cabins without plumbing. Because of its great location and affordable rates, Curry Village always sells out early. If you decide to stay there, be sure to book your room well in advance. Keep in mind that the rooms with private restrooms are often booked over a year in advance. Of course, like any in a national park, the rooms at Curry Village Yosemite National Park do not have television sets. However, other amenities include outdoor pool, ice skating rink, three food courts, a shuttle service, a gift shop and an activities desk. Curry Village accepts Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express. A one’s deposit is required. In order to receive a full refund, you must cancel 10 days prior to arrival.

If you are looking for a Curry Village package, there are some exciting and affordable ones available. Skiers can purchase a Curry Village package for what it costs to purchase a lift ticket at another resort. Many of these feature a full breakfast, as well as complimentary shuttle service to the Badger Pass Ski area.

In the summer, it’s possible to find an excellent Curry Village Package at the Curry Village Bed and Breakfasts. Curry Village also has some “Super-Size Me” packages which feature two days filled with activity. A winter package includes:

  • Two-night double occupancy at Curry Village
  • Breakfast for two both mornings at Curry Pavilion
  • One-day lift tickets and downhill rentals for two at Badger Pass Ski
  • One 2-hour tubing session for two
  • One ski or snowboard private lesson for two 1 evening session of ice skating with rentals for two
